The Water Cube - An Attractor The Water Cube, positioned on an axis that is well connected , will function as a mixed-use structure with a key position in he development of the Olympic Park post the Winter Olympics in 2022. The scope of the project is envisaged within the Attractors of the site, based on the types of people who access this space. Visitors to the site (tourists) and the Residents around the surroundings become the potential users of the site. The residents and most tourists tend to use the Bus and the Train stations. The major attractors to the Olympic Park post the olympics is the usage of the Water Cube as a Multi functional space. To make this area more functional, by converting it into an heterogenous space derives our solution for the issue.

Maps demarcating the movement, points of entry and the hierarchy of roads
A basic analysis of the pedestrian movement within the entire Olympic park to understand and visualise the movement mechanism and ideology of movement within the site. The points of access such as the subway and the bus stations are marked out to create a basic outline to demarcate the cone of the points of access. The arterial, subarterial and tertiary roads are highlighted to showcase the vehicular traffic in the immediate vicinity of the site.

USING A COMPONENT AS THE DESIGN LANGUAGE The concept of using a polyhedron to dictate the path and slopes of the site speaks of an intentional motive behind using a three dimensional component as our Design Language.
The idea behind using these elements helps retain the essence of the Water Cube, while the landscape around it tries to create a spatial experience surrounded by heterogenous spaces.

INTERVENTION
The concept lies in the use of modular polyhedrons which offer flexibility in design both in the way they are configured and used. The polyhedrons give a sense of direction and slope while others double as seating, planters and recreational spaces.
