Making

“The heart of Fountain Hills is found in its people – creative, caring, and endlessly inspired by the beauty around them.”

FROM CATTLE COUNTRY TO COMMUNITY GEM

It’s hard to imagine that the vibrant, scenic community of Fountain Hills began as a quiet stretch of desert once used for cattle grazing. When the World’s Tallest Fountain first rose skyward in 1971– surrounded by miles of dusty, open land – few could have envisioned the thriving town we enjoy just 54 years later.

A Lifestyle That Shines

Today, Fountain Hills is home to a rich mix of shops, restaurants, and services that give the town its distinctive small-town warmth. But it’s the energy of our people –the celebrations, civic pride, and sporting spirit – that have truly built a world-class reputation for our desert oasis.

Honoring the Visionaries

We owe a deep debt of gratitude to the early visionaries – many of whom still call Fountain Hills home – whose creativity, passion, and determination laid the groundwork for the businesses, government, and nonprofit organizations that continue to define our community’s character and heart.

A Year of Exciting Growth

The year 2025 has ushered in a wave of new businesses and entrepreneurs, adding fresh energy to our local landscape. Kudos to our town’s Economic Development team and the Chamber of Commerce for their commitment to growth and innovation.

Take a stroll down the Avenue of the Fountains and discover newcomers such as P-39 Apothecary and Good Living Greens – sure to delight locals and visitors alike.

Welcome to Our New Neighbors

We also extend a warm welcome to new residents joining us in neighborhoods like Adero Canyon and Eagles Nest. Over the past few years, these communities have blossomed, becoming home to hundreds of families drawn to the town’s natural beauty and closeknit spirit. Custom home builders continue to add stunning designs, while Fountain Hills resale homes remain among the most sought-after in the Valley.

A Market on the Rise

According to The Cromford Report, Fountain Hills has ranked among the hottest real estate markets in the Valley of the Sun for the past two years. Data from the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service (ARMLS) confirms the trend – home values have appreciated an astounding 266% since 2000, including a 51.9% gain since 2020.

The Dream Lives On

From its humble beginnings to its vibrant present, Fountain Hills continues to embody The Making of a Desert Dream – a place where vision meets community, and where every sunset reminds us just how far imagination can go.

Golfer’s Dream

Fountain Hills area golf courses are known not only for their challenging fairways, but also for stunning vistas!

Every February, golf fans from around the world flock to nearby Scottsdale for the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, just a short drive from Fountain Hills. Nicknamed “The Greatest Show on Grass,” this PGA tournament is more than just a sporting event. It’s a full-on celebration of the golf lifestyle, with massive crowds, high-energy fans, and some of the top talent in the game teeing off in one of the sport’s most iconic atmospheres.

But if you want the golf lifestyle to last all year, not just for a week, Fountain Hills is the place to be.

CommunityArtistic

“In Fountain Hills, art isn’t confined to galleries – it lives in our streets, our sunsets, and the hands of those who call this desert home.”

Think Fountain Hills is all about the fountain? Think again. With  self-guided art tours, sculpture-lined sidewalks, and a calendar full of art-centered events, this desert town has become a cultural destination for creatives and collectors alike – no museum ticket required.

Twice a year, the town comes alive with creativity during the Fall and Spring Fountain Festivals of Fine Arts & Crafts. These three-day events bring 500+ juried artists to the Avenue of the Fountains, showcasing everything from fine art and handmade jewelry to ceramics, photography, and more. Add in live music, local food, and a festive atmosphere, the Fountain Festivals are signature events that attract visitors from across the Southwest.

Fountain Hills is home to more than 150 remarkable pieces of public art, one of the largest outdoor public art collections in Arizona. Take your time and explore it all through one of our four Self-Guided Art Walk Tours, designed to be enjoyed at your own pace. Each sculpture or mural features a plaque with a custom QR code that links to the artist’s biography and the story behind the piece. Download a guidebook on the Resources page at DesertVibe.com. Maps are also available at the REMAX Sun Properties office.

Speaking of galleries, Fountain Hills Artist Gallery, a local co-op right on the Avenue, has been a community mainstay for years. This artist-run space features an eclectic mix of fine art and artisan pieces, all created by local talent. Right next door, Fusion Fine Art Gallery, a newer addition, brings fresh energy with its contemporary works and creative exhibits that rotate regularly.

The Fountain Hills Art League, founded in 1980, is dedicated to promoting the visual arts and helping artists learn, grow, and connect. They host a spring art tour and juried show, giving local talent a platform to share their work.

Each Wednesday from November through April, the Avenue of the Fountains comes alive with Art on the Avenue, an outdoor market showcasing local artists and artisans. Stroll under the palm trees and meet the makers behind hand-crafted jewelry, paintings, ceramics, textiles, and more.

It’s a perfect mid-week outing to shop local, support the arts, and enjoy the beauty of Fountain Hills right here on the Avenue of the Fountains.

Whether you’re an art collector, a festival-goer, or simply someone who loves beauty in everyday life, Fountain Hills offers a uniquely artistic experience.

Soundtrack

OF FOUNTAIN HILLS

“Live music fills the desert air –concerts, local bands, and festivals that keep Fountain Hills in tune.”

Fountain Park becomes the heart of the town’s music scene throughout the year, hosting a variety of major events that bring the community together. In spring, the Fountain Hills Music Fest takes center stage with top regional bands, food trucks, and family-friendly fun. March brings the lively Irish Fest, complete with Celtic music, dancing, and cultural flair. And summer wouldn’t be complete without Fourth at the Fountain, a patriotic celebration featuring live music, fireworks, and an all-American atmosphere. ExperienceFountainHills.org

Concerts on the Avenue

Every Thursday evening in April from 6-9 PM, the Avenue of the Fountains comes alive with music during the Concerts on the Avenue series. Bring your chairs and your friends and be ready for great live music! And while you’re enjoying the live music, be sure to stop by the RE/MAX Sun Properties office for complimentary snacks and cool beverages.

Community at Its Core

Beyond the big events, Fountain Hills nurtures a strong community-based music culture. The Fountain Hills Community Chorus and Community Band offer residents of all backgrounds a chance to perform and connect through music, no professional experience required, just a love for song and sound. Curtain Up at the Theater

Rounding out the soundscape is the Fountain Hills Theater, where musicals, concerts, and live performances bring Broadway energy to the desert. From classic productions to original pieces, it’s the place where local talent shines on stage, and music fills the air.
