Introduction
Since 1945, Sonoma Valley Hospital (SVH) has been a trusted provider of compassionate, high-quality healthcare. Now affiliated with UCSF Medical Center, SVH continues to be a vital resource for our region, saving lives, treating illness, and promoting wellness.
After nearly 80 years of continuous service, many parts of our original infrastructure are outdated and no longer meet current safety and efficiency standards. To remain a modern, safe, and effective care facility—while preserving our history—SVH must undergo significant revitalization.
This campaign is our community’s opportunity to ensure SVH continues to deliver excellent care in a facility equipped for today and ready for tomorrow.
The Need
While SVH provides advanced clinical services, portions of the hospital were built decades ago and now require urgent upgrades. Key challenges include:
• Seismic Safety: Portions of the hospital need structural retrofitting to meet current earthquake safety standards.
• Aging Infrastructure: Systems such as HVAC, elevators, sewer lines, and security are outdated and risk disrupting care.
• Technology Gaps: Our IT systems must be modernized to support electronic medical records, telemedicine, and secure data sharing with UCSF and other providers.
