Elcowire signs heads-of-terms agreement with Meva Energy Elcowire AB, a leading European manufacturer of copper wire products, has entered into a Heads-of-Terms agreement with Meva Energy, a renewable energy provider. This agreement establishes the framework for the long-term supply of up to 9 MW of biogas to Elcowire’s Helsingborg facility. With this move, Elcowire will become the world’s first copper wire producer to operate using fossil-free energy. By transitioning from fossil gas to Meva Energy’s renewable biogas, Elcowire aims to decarbonize its copper melting process, setting a new sustainability benchmark for the global metallurgy industry.
