Sustainable growth: 15% of our yearly deliveries will consist of Low-carbon Copper and Recycled Copper
In response to the increasing demand for sustainable materials, we have more than 15% share of Low-carbon and Recycled Copper contracted for 2025 from our site in Helsingborg. These shipments support both existing and new customers across the general industry, energy sector, and automotive industry.
Our copper is primarily used in applications such as high-voltage and charging cables, transformers and enameled wires playing a crucial role in advancing energy efficiency and sustainability. As the market continue to prioritize eco-friendly solutions, we remain committed to providing high-quality, responsible copper materials that support a greener future. In February we also started the first supplies of this material from our site in Hettstedt.

SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT IN HETTSTEDT
Elcowire’s production facility in Hettstedt has achieved a significant milestone in sustainable water management. By investing and implementing an advanced water circulation system, the plant has successfully reduced its water consumption by 350,000 cubic meters annually
The newly developed system consists of two kilometers of state-of-the-art piping, ensuring efficient water flow and reuse. The water circulates through cooling towers in a closedloop system, minimizing waste and optimizing resource utilization.
This innovative system was commissioned in January 2025 and includes post-treatment and quality control, ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
This reduction in water usage matches what 8,000 residents would typically consume during a full year.
This achievement marks a significant step toward sustainability and resource efficiency at Elcowire Hettstedt, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing.
ELCOWIRE RAIL INTRODUCES LOW-CARBON AND RECYCLED COPPER FOR ENTIRE PRODUCT LINE
Elcowire Rail has successfully achieved Environmental Self Declarations (ESDs) for its entire product line produced with Low-carbon Copper or Recycled Copper, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and transparency. These declarations provide environmental impact data, supporting customers in making informed, eco-conscious choices.
This milestone aligns with Elcowire’s ongoing efforts to reduce environmental footprints and promote sustainable rail infrastructure.

INNOVATIVE WATER PROJECT IN HELSINGBORG
Elcowire’s facility in Helsingborg has taken another step toward sustainable water management with the installation of new equipment that optimizes the use of cooling towers.
As part of the process, the salinity levels of the evaporated water are carefully monitored through conductivity measurements. To maintain optimal balance, softened groundwater is added as needed.
This advanced system has led to a significant reduction in water consumption, saving 10,000 cubic meters per year.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN PRACTICE AT ELCOWIRE HELSINGBORG
We have invested in smarter energy use by installing a power control unit with active dynamic filtering on one of our transformers. Measurement show that we reduce energy consumption and thereby decreases environmental impact.
Energy efficiency is a key part of our sustainability efforts, and we consider further initiatives to support our sustainability goals.
