classicism meets surrealism Montreal city is full of contrasts - the blend of old architecture with the new, the cross-junction of people and culture. Alongside the stately grace of the Notre-Dame Basilica and the Bonsecours Market’s glistening dome awaits a wealth of cutting-edge design shops and forward-thinking restaurants. That is what inspired this project - to incorporate a fusion of two styles that are completely at odds with each other - Classicism is calculated and measured, while surrealism is all about breaking out of those calculations. - to create luxurious experiences and surrealistic art in the hotel, which manifests the beauty of strength, tenderness, comparison and temptation to keep exploring. The scope of the project includes design of both public and private spaces with a cohesive conceptual narrative. The program includes a main lobby, check-in reception, concierge, baggage storage, administrative and support areas, and a full service restaurant and bar.

One of the focal points is a dramatic wire-mesh vaulted ceiling design. The lighting goals are to accentuate the ceiling design, while at the same time provide ambient lighting that does not take the focus away from the ceiling. The lighting will be 2700K or less to provide an overall warm and cozy atmosphere.

The scope of the project was to re-design the 5th floor of the SUNY college. The main goal is to group together the patients of head trauma, low vision, and vision therapy. For this purpose, there will be two seperate waiting rooms, different circulation paths, and seperate collaboration spaces for the teaching faculty/doctors. The space is also designed to accomodate COVID-19 social distancing. Current conditions of the floor plan has issues like lack of visilbility into patient care areas, insufficient and inflexible storage, inappropriate materials that cause glare, and unergonomic caseworks.
