SOMETHING NEW BOUTIQUE BRIDES Top 5 things,“I loved most about my wedding!”

where the girl comes before

Mindi Linscombe, owner of Something New Boutique in Colorado Springs, Colorado, knows what it is like to be disappointed as a bride. Her frustrating experience led her and her husband Jordan to open their store to create a better experience for brides and to ensure that another bride will never have to repeat what happened to her. She says: “When I searched for my own bridal gown for my wedding, it started off as a very disappointing experience. Many of the places I went, treated me like a number or blatantly cared more about their dresses than they did me – a real customer standing there in the store. I eventually

found my gown, but had to go to great lengths – even out of state – to find the experience for which I had hoped.” Since Something New Boutique opened in 2008, thousands of brides all across the country have flocked to the beautiful store. Brides tell us that they come not only for a beautiful, quality bridal gown in a stunning setting, but for the experience where they know: “The girl comes before the dress.” Brides come to Something New Boutique rather than somewhere else because they know they will be treated with personal attention and find exactly what they want for their big day. Recent bride, Christy says of her experience: “My experience at Something New Boutique was amazing! As soon as my mom and I walked in

the door, they had smiling faces and were completely engaging. My consultant was wonderful and made me feel like I was the only one there. I was from out-of-state, like completely across the country, and she didn’t even flinch. When I initially tried on “my dress,” but felt I needed some time to mull it over, there was absolutely NO PRESSURE! As soon as I walked back in their doors to officially make it real, they were so excited for me. All the staff members were amazing; they worked as a team helping each other when one of them had questions. I even heard one of them say, ‘I wear my iWatch so when one of my brides has a question, they text me and I can get right back to them.’ Amazing customer service in my mind! Thank you for making this such a great experience!” As a recently

engaged bride, Colorado’s Best Wedding Dresses invites you to schedule an appointment where you can see what brides from all over are raving about: the elegant lighting, the expanded dressing room space, and a truly intimate boutique experience that has the bride’s goals in mind. BRIDAL STORE “After shopping at many other stores, I went to Something New Boutique. Mindi found my “wow” dress that didn’t compare to any other!” -Bride, Alyssa

You’re afraid you won’t be a priority with our consultants.

Given that our store is one of the largest and most highly recommended bridal salon in the state, you might think that you’ll be lost or just a number because we work with so many brides. Many brides think they can get a better selection from a large box retailer or more personalized service from a smaller, less successful boutique. The reality is that you can have both. At our store, our goal is to help you find your wedding dress from the literally hundreds of options we have in each size with the least inconvenience and hassle for you. You’ve already got so much going on in the planning for your wedding that one more “appointment” where you spin your wheels isn’t what you’re looking for. What you need is a bridal consultant that is impeccably focused on your needs and wants for your wedding dress, someone who listens, AND someone who really cares about what you’ll wear when you declare your love to the one you’ve chosen. You won’t have to compromise with amazing selection AND personalized service. There’s no need to sacrifice because, you’re dealing with one of America’s top

bridal retailers and every highly trained member of our team is focused on giving you the VIP treatment you deserve. Don’t just take our word for it. Consider what recent bride Rosilynn Willardson said about her experience at our store: “When I walked into your store, I didn’t think I’d find anything. I am very picky, and I wanted something simple, but elegant. I had been to many other stores and found things that came close, but weren’t “The Dress.” My consultant was extremely nice, and quick even though she was with another bride that day. After a few, though, I became discouraged, but my ever cheerful consultant said there was one last dress she knew I’d love. I tried it on, and as soon as I stepped in front of the mirror I knew it was “The Dress.” It was 17 | COLORADO’S BEST WEDDING DRESSES

simple, elegant, and I looked amazing in it. To make it even better, it was under budget! I am so glad I went to your store to get my perfect wedding dress! I can’t wait to wear it on my big day!”

You’ve heard from a friend that a certain store gives crazy discounts and deals to brides if you ask them.

We certainly understand the temptation to give business to a friend or to another store you may have already been to, especially if that store has offered to cut their price to give you a deal. And, to be blunt, there’s no point in wasting your time or ours attempting to negotiate prices; we don’t discount the price of our dresses. If you have already been to another store, and they’ve offered you a big discounted price, here are three cautions you’ll want to keep in mind: • First, any store that cuts prices must also cut and compromise the service and the quality of the overall experience they can provide at their store and that means less for you in the long run. • Second, any store that cuts their prices reveals a mind-set about how they sell. It suggests that they will be quickly and easily willing to reduce the other benefits you may get when you buy your dress from them. • Third, any bridal store that is discounting their prices

significantly must really need the business, and that may tell you something about how happy his or her brides really are and the small number of individuals who refer their friends and family to come to their store and buy from them. At our store, more that 71% of all brides who buy from us are the direct result of an invitation from a friend or family member to buy from us. With these things in mind, you should very thoroughly question any bridal store about their experience, how many referrals they get, and how varied the prices are between what is priced and what is actually sold. Your wedding gown isn’t just any dress. It is like the most important formal gown you will ever wear. It is a significant purchase and you don’t want to be pushed into it or settle for something simply because of an over-promising retailer who just can’t deliver on what they’re selling. Please don’t make this mistake.

You think that all bridal stores are basically the same, and do basically the same thing.

We hope after reviewing this magazine and discovering all of the differences about our store, that you’ll understand how untrue this statement really is. Certainly, all bridal stores sell wedding dresses in the same broad, general sense. But this is like saying all doctors and hospitals do basically the same things. However, there are certain hospitals with a much higher success rate with heart operations than other hospitals. There are doctors that affluent, knowledgeable patients travel great distances to see, and there are doctors who struggle to get enough patients to barely eke out a living in their home towns. We attract and have engineered our entire approach to selling wedding gowns for brides who have a profound preference for ‘the best’, for having the

most respected, qualified and capable professionals handle every detail in preparation for their wedding. These same individuals are the ones, who if they have a medical need, they seek out the best doctor, not just any doctor. If this describes you, then you know very well that all bridal stores simply cannot be the same. So, for the most important gown you may ever wear, we invite you to seek out and choose the most experience and most successful team of bridal consultants you can.

Given these four reasons you may have been considering, we hope that you’ll schedule an appointment with one of our caring bridal consultants to help you find your dress. In helping thousands of brides over the years to find their dream dress, we’ve identified the following key factors that our best brides share: • A preference for working with the most professional experts • Willingness to listen to suggestions and to act on expert advice

Top 5 things “I Loved Most About My Wedding!”

“ I had the best time finding my dress at Something New Boutique” - Bride, Kelly

Seeing all my friends and family in one place. There were people that came from all over the world and country; it meant so much to my husband and I to have everyone there.

Seeing my husbands face as I walked down the aisle. His tears spoke louder than words of his love for me. It gave me a picture of how God sees me.

My close friend, Zoe, sang “Butterfly Kisses” for my Father/Daughter dance. She is exceptionally talented and I was truly blessed to have her preform for us.

I loved my dress and hair/makeup. Two of my close friends did my hair/makeup perfectly. I never felt more like a beautiful princess in my life. It was great to feel that way for such a special day.

Watching people dance during the reception. My husband did the worm, my grandparents started dancing, and randomly, one of the little girls broke out into a solo hip hop dance in front of everyone. It was fun to see everyone’s crazy side come out.

“ Thank you Something New Boutique, I feel truly blessed!” - Bride, Stacy

Anticipation the moment I would see my groom and he would see me!

Having my two precious boys walk me down the aisle was truly emotional! Being a single mom, these years have not been the easiest but having them both by my side was an amazing gift! We were all entering this new journey together!

My beautiful dress from “Something New Boutique.” This dress was exactly the style I was looking for to fit the theme of our wedding. Every detail from the lace to the color was perfect!

The Venue, “Botanical Gardens at Chatfield Farms in Littleton Colorado” was truly breath taking! The barn and silo gave it that perfect ‘country chic’ feel.

The support of our family and friends. They did so much to help pull everything together! My favorite moment about our wedding was having our family and friends there. Showing their love and support meant the world to my husband and I! We had so much support and help with our big day. Without them we would not have been able to pull off this beautiful and memorable day! 23 | COLORADO’S BEST WEDDING DRESSES

“My married friends used to tell me “your wedding day will be the best day of your life.” I have had so many good days with my partner, and with all the stress and wedding pressures I never thought it would be our best day. But it actually did! It was the most beautiful day I could ever have, surrounded by the people we loved, having the most fun we could ever have.” - Bride, Ava

My dress! My dream dress! Wearing it made me feel like a princess for one night. Absolutely loved my dress. The beautiful lace and tulle, the sparkling beaded lace, the unique color and the way it perfectly fitted my body made me the happiest bride.

The location was incredibly beautiful, well designed with my favorite flowers, a piece of heaven on earth.

Having all the people we loved in one place. Some had flown from another continent just to be with us on our special day, which meant the world to us. Felt so blessed to have all these beautiful souls around us.

Our photography team. Professionally captured all the love and joy between us in a very fun atmosphere.

The fact that I was marrying that incredible man, my best friend and my soulmate. Like the world was ours and nothing could ever stop us from being in love and happy.

“There are quite a few weddings out there that you take a look at and say WOW. Look at that planning, their color scheme, the wedding dress the bride wore, or even the location of the wedding. I can take a look back on my wedding and say that it was magical in every way but five things stood out the most.” - Bride, Cassandra

The location. We got married in front of the majestic mountains of Rocky Mountain National park. How could any building beat the beauty of Colorado?

Photographer, Taylor Powers. She worked with us every step of the way and our day wouldn’t have been the same without her.

The elegance of our wedding. My husband and I are not the flashy type so we decided an elopement to the mountains with just our family would be what we wanted. And let me tell you I would not change it for the world. Quiet, peaceful, serene it fit every aspect of our relationship. Photography: Taylor Powers Photos

My wedding dress. I had no idea what kind of dress would fit me and my personality but my wedding dress everything just clicked. As soon as I tried it on I cried. I imagined my husband’s face when he saw me for the first time and the day of our wedding his face was exactly how I imagined it would be.

Choosing an elopement over a large wedding. My husband and I spend a lot of time adventuring around Colorado. We always found that in those little moments in the quiet of nature was pure happiness. Deciding to elope wasn’t a hard decision, we wanted something small, stress free, and something that would represent us and our relationship. And the elopement was the perfect fit. Overall our wedding was the best representation of my husband and I. 25 | COLORADO’S BEST WEDDING DRESSES

Sweet Southern Blooms

ith so many wonderful wedding blogs, magazines and of course Pinterest, how do you pick the flowers that are right for you and your special day? I’m a firm believer that flowers are a reflection of who we are. Some are sweet smelling, some are plain looking, some are colorful striking and some are very delicate. Every flower has something that either reminds us of grandma’s perfume, something our mom grew in her garden or the flowers that your groom to be gave you when he proposed. These are the flowers

we love to incorporate into your special day. They are an old memory creating a new memory, and this is what we LOVE to design with our brides more than anything, it’s the start of a new family tradition.

Style. Color. Formality Will your day be formal, informal, colorful, classic, trendy, or modern? The style of your wedding will play an important role in what you choose for your men’s formal wear. FIT SHIRTS

Choosing the right fit for the right body type is so important. Most men nowadays opt for the slim-fit tuxedo for a more modern and tailored look. The Traditional fit is more boxy, and then the Ultra Slim fit is the most trendy.

Shirts provide another opportunity to add character to your wedding day attire. The basic color for shirts are while and ivory, which should be based off the brides wedding dress. Microfiber material is the latest most popular material today providing a very smooth texture and feel and often many color options. The sleeve should be a little longer than your jacket to allow a little sliver of the shirt and cuff links to show.

THE JACKET The Jacket a very important piece to your tuxedo look. The build of the groom and wedding party should be one major factor on which you base your decision.

Ties come in many different styles, patterns, and colors. Bow ties are typically more classic and formal and are often a solid color. The Windsor tie has become increasingly popular in recent years. Typically, the groom’s tie will match the color of the bridal gown, while the groomsmen’s will match the bridesmaids’ dresses.

POCKET SQUARES Pocket Squares are a great way to add a splash of color to your tux jacket. Many people match the pocket square with the tie they have chosen.

CUFF LINKS & STUDS Cuff links and Studs give your shirt a very polished look. The style of your wedding should be kept in mind when picking out all accessories.

SOCKS Wear long dress socks to avoid showing any skin when you sit. A lot of men these days choose the socks to express their unique style and personality with different patterns and colors.

ACCESSORIES Accessories put the finishing touches on your whole wedding day look. You may choose to have the men in your wedding wear neither a vest nore cummerbund if you are going for a more casual look.

SHOES Shoes should be the last thing you pick out. You should only pick shoes that match once you have the rest of the tux all figured out. 42 | COLORADO’S BEST WEDDING DRESSES

Peak lapel is most common and traditional. While the Notch Lapel is most popular, most rentals have this. The Shawl Lapel is very traditional but not the best choice for rounder bodies.

The trousers for the tuxedo jacket will be determined somewhat by the jacket you’ve selected. In general, the same style and color trousers should be worn throughout the men in the wedding party.
