Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

SCSD will cultivate a community of professional learners focused on advancing student success.

SCSD focuses on results and ensures that students are learning by answering the following questions: n “What do we want our students to know, be able to do, and understand?” n “How do we know what our students know, are able to do, and can understand?” n “What do we do when students don’t know, aren’t able to do, or can’t understand?” n “What do we do when they already know, are able to do, and understand?”

The district fosters a culture of collaboration through curriculum mapping, data dialogue, sharing instructional strategies, and creating common assessments.
