Newsletter

The SOMC Development Foundation encompasses fundraising efforts for Hospice, Cancer, Employee Relief, Heart & Vascular, Pediatrics, Community Health and Wellness, the Endowment Fund and the areas of greatest need. These funds generate much needed support and enable SOMC to continually deliver extraordinary care for future generations to come. We consider it our responsibility to serve our community and we take pride in doing so.

A Note to Our Donors As COVID-19 continues to spread, the future has never felt so unpredictable. These are challenging times for us all, and we hope you’re in good spirits and health.

Right now, we are working to provide new ways our donors can help the community and hospital while still practicing social distancing. In addition, we are working on ongoing communication plans to help keep you informed.

» Randy & Glenna Arnett

Randy & Glenna Arnett have been unwavering supporters of the SOMC Development Foundation since its creation in 2015.

The high school sweethearts were born and raised in Scioto County, and have been dedicated to helping this community for many years.

Glenna, who was once a candy striper and nurse in maternity, now spends her days as an active SOMC volunteer and President of the Pediatric Guild. Randy recently retired in January from 29 years of leadership serving as SOMC’s President & CEO.

Aside from their commitment to SOMC, the Arnetts are also members of the Legacy Society.

Over the years, the Arnetts have had the joy of watching our community, hospital and Development Foundation grow.

The Hospice Caritas Fund also holds a special place in the hearts of the Arnetts.

“When my mother was ill, the first nurse came and it was as if angels arrived,” Glenna said.

“Their services allowed me to be a daughter, not just a caretaker, and be able to process everything going on. I was so appreciative to all of them.”

The SOMC Development Foundation is forever grateful for supporters like the Arnetts.

New Feed Our Frontline Campaign Do you want to help the frontline staff at SOMC and local restaurants during this pandemic? You now have the opportunity!

Our heroes work on the frontlines and spend long hours away from their families to take care of all of us. They may often miss meals or are just too tired to think about eating. Luckily, our heroes have their own hero: you.

The SOMC Development Foundation will purchase gift cards to distribute to those brave healthcare heroes. Help us help them as 100% of all donations will go towards this project. It may seem like a small donation from you, but it will make a huge difference for our heroes and the community. Will you join us as we feed our frontline and help our local restaurants?
