>> Fund feature: The Hospice Caritas Fund Created in 2007, this fund helps support the patients and families of outpatient care and those staying at our hospice facility.

Numerous projects have been completed to help improve the quality of life of these patients. From end-of-life wishes such as seeing their favorite band or having a wedding to building outdoor recreation areas and providing new wheelchairs, those who donate to this fund make a difference.

In addition to the heartwarming stories of how this fund has helped make our patients smile, this fund goes beyond that. One of the things that makes the SOMC Hospice Center special is

that it does not bill past what insurance pays. So, when families are grieving, this fund helps pick up the costs allowing us to continue offering this exceptional care.

By being a donor to the SOMC Hospice Caritas Fund, you are making wishes come true, providing holiday presents when shopping is the last thing on their mind, stocking the center full of food for families who can’t leave to go out and eat, the list goes on. But ultimately, you are the reason this center exists. Your contributions do not go unnoticed.

Our mission is to make a difference by identifying the community’s health and wellness needs while bridging the gap between those needs and the cost of the solutions.

The SOMC Development Foundation encompasses fundraising efforts for Hospice, Cancer, Employee Relief, Heart & Vascular, Pediatrics, Community Health and Wellness, the Endowment Fund and the areas of greatest need. These funds generate much needed support and enable SOMC to continually deliver extraordinary care for future generations to come. We consider it our responsibility to serve our community and we take pride in doing so.
