Hospice Construction Update We are excited to announce the opening of the new hospice wing thanks to our amazing donors of the Transcending Lives Hospice Expansion Project. This $3 million campaign now allows us to start the renovation of the current SOMC Hospice Center. With one wing closing at a time for construction, the center will still operate per usual. Everything is moving along smoothly and we will soon receive our beautiful donor wall to honor those who made this project a reality. For questions on the campaign and construction progress, please contact Mary Arnzen at ArnzenM@somc.org or 740-356-5609.

Our mission is to make a difference by identifying the community’s health and wellness needs while bridging the gap between those needs and the cost of the solutions.
The SOMC Development Foundation encompasses fundraising efforts for Hospice, Cancer, Employee Relief, Heart & Vascular, Pediatrics, Community Health and Wellness, the Endowment Fund and the areas of greatest need. These funds
generate much needed support and enable SOMC to continually deliver extraordinary care for future generations to come. We consider it our responsibility to serve our community and we take pride in doing so.

Event Recaps The Development Foundation team has been busy wrapping up recent fundraising events.
Our Race for the Roses online auction benefited our Hospice Caritas Fund, which in return supplies families with holiday meals and even helps grant end-of-life wishes. This was our first time hosting an online auction and we hope to host another in the future! The most recent event completed was the second annual SOMC Perinatal Loss Walk. Families came to walk in honor of a baby that is gone but not forgotten. All proceeds from the event benefit the SOMC Nursery Bereavement Fund.
Project Highlight: Frisbee Golf at Earl Thomas Conley Park
With the weather getting warmer and the days lasting longer, many people are looking to the outdoors for their physical activities. Thanks to our Community Health & Wellness Fund donors, you and your family can enjoy an evening outside while playing a round of Frisbee Golf at the Early Thomas Conley Park. Located past the park shelters, you will find the course setup for you to enjoy!
