Hospice Expansion Update We are excited to announce that the new hospice wing is complete and will soon open! We would like to thank our donors for helping us make this project a reality for our community. This wing features four patient rooms, a family shower room (so that family members don’t have to leave the facility), staff support areas, a meditation room, a common gathering area, and a beautiful outdoor patio with a water feature and fireplace. Now that the new addition is complete, construction will begin on the remaining three wings, and will be completed one wing at a time so that hospice can continue to operate with twelve inpatient hospice rooms. When the project is completely finished, there will be 16 patient rooms available for our community. Completion of the renovation project is projected for late 2021. For questions on this campaign, please contact Mary Arnzen at ArnzenM@somc.org or by calling 740-356-5609.
Cooking with Heart Recap Thank you to everyone who participated in our live cooking demonstration, Cooking with Heart. This heart healthy cooking demonstration was provided free of charge by Pastor’s Pantry Cooking School and a purse raffle was made possible thanks to our SOMC Heart & Vascular Associates. All proceeds benefited the SOMC Heart & Vascular Fund and helped purchase at home blood pressure monitors for patients experiencing financial difficulties. To watch the cooking demonstration and make some delicious heart healthy recipes, check out our Facebook page @SOMCDevelopmentFoundation.
