At Crafts by Solid, we are managed by Solid, a Belgian-run NGO present in Peru, India, and Kenya. By creating work for women and giving them fair wages for the work they do, the women become empowered, more independent, and the extra income can help improve their quality of life. We also offer on-site childcare, literacy classes, life skills training, and vocational education on their handicraft skills. The profit we make from the business is put back into the communities to fund social projects like our work to aid teenage mothers. This way, the change comes from the community itself, simply by being offered a safe job with a fair salary.
