Intro
COVID-19 left nothing untouched. Schools shuttered, churches closed their doors, and here at SOLA, we had to cancel our biggest event of the year: the SOLA Conference. But as our world was forced to retreat and reconnect over Zoom meetings, SOLA’s work also continued online at the SOLA Network website. Through the work of our amazing contributors and staff, we were able to create and share content that you read, reacted to, and shared online. We were so thankful for this online community that allowed us to stay connected with you. To help share and to celebrate, we have compiled nine of our best articles from 2020. They have touched on some of the most relevant topics of this year, from COVID-19 to racial reconciliation to politics. One is a personal essay that details suffering that we should all empathize with. We hope that they will all bless, challenge, and encourage you as we enter 2021. Of course, the unfortunate reality is that not much has changed from early spring 2020. We are still in a pandemic. Our country is still divided politically and culturally. Suffering is still all around. But we believe in the supremacy of Christ and the resilience of the Church. We know that God has called all Christians, including Asian American Christians, to use their words and deeds to shine the light of Christ. We hope this magazine can be part of revealing the glory of God to all, and we can’t wait to share more with you in 2021.
