LETTER FROM LEADERSHIP

transformative power of giving. We know that a commitment to generosity – whether with our time, resources, or talents –creates ripples that can change lives far beyond what we can imagine.

When we give, we cultivate gratitude, build genuine connection, and create a legacy of hope and shared success. In times of triumph and even in moments of challenge, the act of giving reminds us that our strength as a community lies in our compassion for others.

“When you extend your hand to give, you open a door to discover the beauty of a shared humanity.”

Sometimes, we might feel overwhelmed by the idea that giving must be a grand, complicated gesture. It’s important to remember that meaningful acts of generosity can be simple and direct Whether it’s helping out a friend or family member during a time of need, or offering a listening ear, the power of giving lies in its authenticity. Even very small acts—like a word of encouragement, a timely cup of coffee, or a helping hand—can make all the difference in the world.

SODREL HOLDING COMPANY FAMILY OF BUSINESSES

Sodrel Holding Company roots run deep. ‘Pap’ Sodrel began moving mail for the USPS as a ‘Star Route’ Mail Contractor in 1915. Since then, Sodrels have moved mail by foot, boat, horse and carriage, car and semi tractor trailer. In 1976, business diversification began when Mike and Keta Sodrel founded our motorcoach charter business, Free Enterprise. Years later, another venture emerged as yet another spoke in our wheel Student Transit.

We encourage you to explore how you can incorporate giving into your everyday life Whether you have the capacity to support a cause financially, donate your time or skills, or even share simple acts of kindness, every gesture counts Consider supporting organizations in your community that are making a difference Here are just a few ideas to inspire you:

Local Food Banks and Pantries: These organizations provide essential support to families in need Your contributions whether food, funds, or volunteer hours help provide food to those who need it

Environmental Initiatives: Consider donating to or volunteering with local groups dedicated to neighborhood or city environmental projects, community gardens, or tree planting programs that help improve or protect our environment.

Educational Programs and Libraries: Many communities benefit from organizations that focus on education, literacy, and mentorship. Supporting these organizations can have long-term positive effects.

Health and Wellness Organizations: Look for local non-profits working to improve access to mental and physical health services within our community.

SEASONAL SAFETY

Some common Spring allergy symptoms include sneezing, congestion, runny nose, watery eyes, and itchiness in the nose, eyes, or the roof of the mouth.

If you’re experiencing allergy symptoms, don’t despair. You can survive the Spring allergy season by implementing some precautionary measures.

It sounds simple enough, because it is: Whenever possible, limit the time you spend outside when pollen levels are high (pollen.aaaai.org)

Keeping your home clean significantly helps reduce your indoor exposure to pollen and other allergens. Improving the quality and cleanliness of your indoor air is also effective.Followtheseguidelinestohelpmakeyourhomeanallergen-freezone:

WORKOUT OF THE MONTH

ISSUE 5 — ORGAN DONATION PLANKING

Planking engages your core muscles, similar to a push-up, but with a plank, your forearms or palms are on the ground. It strengthens your core, back, and shoulders, and helps improve overall posture and balance.

To perform a plank:

Start in a push-up position, with your body in a straight line from your head to your heels, with your hands or forearms on the ground, and your feet planted

Engage your core and squeeze your glutes to maintain a straight line

Hold the position, aiming for 10-30 seconds to start and increasing the duration as you get stronger. Maintain proper form! Avoid letting your hips sag or arch, and keep your shoulders down and relaxed

“Growing up, my dad was my favorite person. He always pushed me to be the best version of myself, never letting me settle for anything less. He was there for me through thick and thin. No matter the circumstances, he was always in the stands cheering me on. One of my dad's favorite pastimes was watching sports, especially if his grandkids were on the team He loved being there to support us and cheer us on, no matter the outcome. Looking back, I realize how lucky I was to have him there for every game, every play Now that he's gone, I cherish those memories even more. I would give anything to see him in the stands one last time, cheering me on like he always did. Dad may not be physically with me anymore, but his spirit and support will always be with me, pushing me to greatness in everything I do.” Courtney Hall

"TEAMWORK IS THE ABILITY TO WORK TOGETHER TOWARD A COMMON VISION. THE ABILITY TO DIRECT INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS TOWARD ORGANIZATIONAL OBJECTIVES. IT IS THE FUEL THAT ALLOWS COMMON PEOPLE TO ATTAIN UNCOMMON RESULTS."
