IDEAL FUNCTION OF SILO
Vibrating bin activator acts as a discharge mechanism and is combined with a rotary airlock as the feeder, running during the entire batching process. It sometimes becomes difficult to guarantee an accurate and constant flow of powder if the configuration is not right. And sometimes, the volumetric displacement also differs if the vanes of the rotary airlock are not coated well with material.

It is also known as rat-holding. When the flow is happening along the centerline these issues occur, thus forming a vertical tunnel over the
silo’s
flange.
When
the
remaining powder is compressed up against the side, the silo is refilled and creates unflowable areas known as “dead zones”. This hinders uniform discharging and also impacts the storage capacity of the unit.
Static pressure completely stops the flow of the powder inside the silo cone due to gradually reduced diameter from 14 feet to 8 inches. The bridges and arches are naturally corrected when the powder level is above four feet. The area below four feet requires the direct operation of the Mechanical Bin Activator. With the set of flexible rotating blades, it blocks bridging or arching that unfolds inside the powder, from the centerline to the cone wall.
SEGREGATION DUE TO VIBRATIONS
Segregation can happen when the silo experiences excessive vibration. The silo is divided into several areas of densities when the small and large particles separate from each other. Sometimes areas become more solidified, which leads to a blockage near the flange or an irregular dosage during unloading. To stabilize the density and constantly maintain the volumetric metering screws at 100% Mechanical Bin Activator ensures a gentle flow that integrates a transition hopper under the silo.
