In this presentation Zoë will take an in-depth look at the practical application of relative strength portfolio strategies. She will break down critical design parameters including the impact of ranking methodologies, rotation frequency, and sector vs. single-stock implementation. Serious Drawdowns in Trend-Following Strategies and Avoiding them with Regime Switching Models Trend-following strategies have been said to outperform market average returns, but they often experience significant drawdowns. And the drawdowns have become larger across many asset classes since CY2000. As a result, trend-following strategies have been under-performing the market average for a long time. By applying the ‘Markov regime switching model’ to a trend-following strategy based purely on technical analysis and combining them, you can avoid serious drawdowns. Afternoon Keynote: “AI Doesn’t Know What It Doesn’t Know” And Neither Does the Trader Linda will explore the evolution of artificial intelligence in trading and market analysis, from earlier models to today’s rapidly evolving tools. Can AI and human judgment complement each other rather than framing the discussion as human versus machine? AI can only recognize uncertainty that is somehow represented within its model of the world, while the greatest risks may come from possibilities outside the model altogether. Traders, of course, face much the same problem. Drawing on decades of market experience, Linda will share real-life examples and lessons from traders, colleagues, and funds she has interacted with and advised over the years. Linda Bradford Raschke

Automated Swing Signals: Objective Market Structure Through Tops and Bottoms How can an analyst objectively identify swing highs and lows — and therefore identify a trend, a Head & Shoulders pattern, or a Double Top — if tops and bottoms themselves are not clearly defined? This presentation introduces a structured framework for identifying market swings and structural transitions using objective price behaviour rather than interpretation. Building on principles introduced by Dow, Gann, and Elliott, the session explores how automated swing detection can help reduce subjectivity in technical analysis and improve structural market assessment. This keynote explores how shifts in conviction, participation, and initiative shape continuation and open the door to change. The emphasis is not on prediction, but on understanding how control is established, sustained, and challenged over time. Equity Curves Don’t Lie: A Quantitative & AI-Driven Approach to Edge, Sizing and Survival Every trader leaves a footprint in their equity curve. Hidden within it are clues about edge, discipline, and the strengths or flaws of a risk framework. This presentation takes a quantitative and machine learning approach to decoding equity curves, showing how performance patterns can be reverse-engineered to reveal a trader’s underlying strategy and risk management style. We’ll explore how AI enhanced analysis exposes inefficiencies in traditional position sizing, why many institutions get it wrong, and how systematic methods can transform sizing from a risk-control afterthought into a genuine alpha source. In short: strategies generate returns, but it’s position sizing that determines survival. Matej Reisman, CEO, Albacore
