GCS Moms League - The Great Gala benefiting Steping Stones Foundation
Raising children is an essential job, but also the most demanding! Of course, it's an extraordinary experience, but it can also be isolating at times. With this in mind, the Grapevine Colleyville Southlake Moms League (GCSML) was created in 1994 to connect working moms, stay-at-home moms, and school-aged moms with each other through various events catered to all schedules and age groups. Today, with more than 250 members, they bring together mothers (and fathers) from across North Texas. Monthly events include their breakfast social meetings, the new member mingles, weekly playgroups, children’s events, moms’ night out, couples’ nights out, community service opportunities, book club, game night, and so much more. Whether you are a new mom or just new to the area, you will find the GCS Moms League is a place where you are always welcome.
GCS Moms League also has a rich history of community involvement hosting three public events: Trunk or Treat, Children’s Activities Expo, and their annual Great Gala, which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities. This year, Grapevine Colleyville Southlake Moms League is honored to announce their 2023 Great Gala, held on April 29, 2023, at the Bowden Event Center in Keller. The theme for the event is Met Couture. Guests are encouraged to wear a unique gown or black tie attire to showcase their most eclectic ensemble to recreate the couture costumes seen on the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York. The evening will be filled with fashion, fun, and excitement! There will be cocktails, dinner, dancing, and an amazing fashion show hosted by Melissa Rycroft-Strickland, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, television personality, host, and dancer seen on The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars. This prestigious fashion show will feature gowns donated by Rebecca's Runway with hair by Southlake Blondies Salon and makeup by Royale Luxxe Beauty. There will also be a finale of four models dressed in extravagant art-inspired couture gowns by Keller-based fashion designer Bee J Stanley with avant-garde hair and makeup styled by Ashley Nicole Stone and Beauty Entourage. Spicy Violin will provide electric violin music to fit the unique theme. In addition, there will be 30 great raffle items, Live and Silent Auction Vacation Homes, DJ & Dancing, and so much more!
Proceeds from this grand event will benefit the Stepping Stones Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to serving youth in crisis throughout North Texas. Stepping Stones provides access to emergency housing, food, clothing, and medical care and offers an array of programs and services to empower and instill the necessary tools to make positive life choices. With the help of local supporters like you, GCSML hopes to reach their goal to raise $40,000 for Stepping Stones Foundation. In charge of this year's Great Gala, Brooke Baker Kronschnabel states, “GCS Moms League is proud to be able to curate such a unique event benefiting Stepping Stones Foundation. We are passionate about their mission to save homeless and at-risk youth in our area.”
