“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” — Helen Keller
As North Texas eases—well, tries to ease—into fall, the changing season brings more than just pumpkin spiced everything and football Friday Night Lights. Even with temperatures still clinging stubbornly to what feels more like a mild Texas summer, there’s an undeniable energy in the air this time of year—a sense of momentum and community spirit as we head towards the holiday season. That spirit is at the heart of our 19th Annual Who’s Who in Business issue. Each year, this special edition recognizes the outstanding local businesses and professionals whose dedication, innovation and leadership continue to shape our community. From long-standing family owned businesses to dynamic newcomers, these are the people and companies setting the standard for excellence here at home (special section of professional profiles starts on page 30). On this year’s cover, we’re proud to highlight four of those remarkable businesses—each with its own story of passion and purpose (front cover features start on page 20). Their commitment to quality and community reminds us why local business matters and why this issue remains one of our most anticipated each year. As we celebrate another Who’s Who milestone, I invite you to discover the stories behind these names— the people who don’t just do business in North Texas, but help it thrive and grow.

Not only does fall bring a welcome shift in season (even if the thermometer doesn’t quite agree), it also marks the start of one of our favorite times of year—fundraiser and gala season. Across North Texas, calendars fill with events that bring our community together in the best possible way— to celebrate, give back and support the causes that make a real difference. From elegant evenings to spirited charity runs and community luncheons, this season reminds us that business success and community generosity often go hand in hand. At Society Life, we’re honored to play a small part in supporting the many charitable efforts that define our region. Each year, we proudly serve as a media sponsor for some of the area’s most inspiring events—Angels Among Us GRACE Gala, American Red Cross Hats for Heart Luncheon, TEDx Southlake, North Texas SNAP Boots & Bling, SOS Serving Our Seniors Ringmaster’s Haunted Ball, PH4U Clay Shoot, and so many others throughout the year. It’s one of the things we value most—using our platform to help raise awareness for the incredible causes championed by our local nonprofit organizations. Truly Who’s Who in their own right, these organizations deserve recognition for their lasting impact and sterling reputations. Unlike for-profit companies, a nonprofit’s success isn’t measured in revenue, but in the effectiveness, transparency and heart with which it fulfills its mission.
As we celebrate another Who’s Who in Business edition and step into a new season of giving and celebration, I’m reminded that success—whether in business or in service—isn’t achieved alone. It’s built through shared purpose, hard work and heart. Here’s to the entrepreneurs, the dreamers, and the difference-makers who make North Texas such a remarkable place to live, work and give.

“My name is Cory Bloom, and I can honestly say that finding Dentistry by Gist & Hayes Restorative / Cosmetic Dentistry truly changed my life. From the moment that I walked through the doors at their Southlake office, I felt at home. There was something about the atmosphere—warm and welcoming and professional—that instantly put me at ease. I’d been to other dental offices before, but this time was very different. I could tell right away that I was in good hands.
FINDING THE RIGHT TEAM
Before coming here, I had already gone through several dental consultations elsewhere, but I never felt completely confident in the care being recommended. When I met Dr. Gist, I knew immediately that I had found the right team. He has surrounded himself with incredible professionals at every level—people who truly care about what they do and the patients that they treat. There’s a genuine sense of teamwork and passion that you can feel from the front desk to the dental chair. The restoration work I needed was no small task. It required multiple appointments and long hours in the chair, but I was never uncomfortable or anxious. In fact, I actually looked forward to going in for my visits—something I never thought I’d say about going to the dentist! Every person I interacted with had a smile on their face, and that positivity made all the difference.
A COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE, START TO FINISH
I have spent plenty of time in dental offices over the years, and it’s rare to find one that combines such advanced skill with genuine compassion.
“Throughout my entire treatment, I never experienced a single moment of discomfort. Every procedure was explained clearly, and every detail was handled with care.”
I could feel the transformation happening—not just in my smile, but in my overall confidence. The entire dental team went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, informed and encouraged every step of the way.

When the work was finally complete, I was amazed. My smile looked better than I could ever have imagined was possible—but what surprised me most was how I felt. My confidence came back. I found myself smiling more, laughing freely, and feeling like myself again. I am incredibly thankful to Dr. Gist, Dr. Hayes, and all of the amazing women on their expert dental team for giving me so much more than just great dental work. They gave me a brand new outlook—a reminder of what it feels like to smile without hesitation.
My life has forever been changed for the better. I am grateful every day for the care, expertise and kindness that this team showed me. If you’re considering where to go for dental work— especially if you have been putting it off out of fear or just uncertainty—do yourself a favor and visit Dentistry by Gist & Hayes. They didn’t just restore my teeth—they restored my confidence. And for that, I’ll always be thankful.”

STRENGTH FOR DAILY LIFE

Success is one of the most pursued goals in life. For many, it is measured by wealth, recognition, or career achievements. Yet, when we look at what the Bible teaches, success takes on a very different meaning. Scripture shifts the focus away from worldly measures and directs us toward a life rooted in faith, obedience, and service to God.
RETHINK WHAT SUCCESS MEANS
In today’s world, success is often measured by wealth, fame or achievements. But the Bible invites us to a higher standard—one rooted in faith, obedience, and service to God. True success isn’t about applause, accolades or climbing the ladder of worldly recognition—it’s about living a life honoring Him, a life that makes a difference in the lives of others and aligns with His eternal purpose.
START WITH GOD’S WORD
Joshua 1:8 reminds us: “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night… Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Success starts with Scripture. When God’s Word shapes our thoughts, decisions, and actions, every choice becomes intentional. By reflecting on His teachings we gain wisdom, discernment, and the guidance needed to navigate challenges. A life rooted in God’s Word lays a strong foundation.
SURRENDER YOUR PLANS
Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your
plans.” Lasting success isn’t self-made—it’s surrendered to God. When we release our ambitions and trust Him to guide our steps, He takes our efforts and multiplies them in ways we could never achieve on our own. Surrender doesn’t mean giving up—it means aligning our hearts with God’s plan for us, and allowing Him to direct the outcomes.
FAITH OVER FORTUNE
Jesus asks in Mark 8:36: “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” True success measures the health of our hearts, not the size of our bank accounts. A life focused on worldly gain alone leaves us empty, but prioritizing eternal values—love, faith, integrity and service— brings lasting joy, peace and fulfillment that no earthly achievement can match.
SERVE OTHERS TO SHINE
Matthew 23:11 teaches, “The greatest among you will be your servant.” Humility and service define biblical success. When we use our talents and resources to uplift others, we not only bless those around us
but also reflect God’s love in action. Serving transforms ordinary accomplishments into extraordinary impact, leaving a legacy that reaches beyond our own lives.
KNOW CHRIST, KNOW TRUE SUCCESS
Philippians 3:8 declares, “I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” No title, possession, or recognition compares to walking faithfully with Jesus. A personal relationship with Him shapes every area of life, providing purpose, perspective and peace that the world cannot offer.
LIVE GOD’S WAY
The Bible reframes success from fleeting, worldly standards to God-centered living. A successful life is ultimately built on the Scripture, surrendered to God, focused on eternal values, and expressed through service to others. When we embrace this path, success transforms our hearts, blesses others, and echoes into eternity—a legacy of faith, love and meaningful impact.

Tom McKeown’s This Is Panther Country is a lovingly vivid memoir that captures the magic of youth, community, and the unmistakable thrill of high school basketball. Drawing upon his very own experiences growing up in Babylon, Long Island during the mid-1970s, Tom crafts a story that’s deeply personal and broadly relatable—taking its readers behind the cheering crowds and into the lives of the players, the coaches, and a town that rallies behind them.
From the outset, McKeown shows an impressive ability to evoke setting and atmosphere. The smells, sounds, cold nights, and warm gymnasiums of Long Island come alive. His portrayal of the Panthers, a small-town varsity basketball team chasing their first Long Island Championship, is rendered with both dramatic tension and affection. He does not shy away from describing their many obstacles—injuries, social divisions, the pressure on young athletes—but he balances those darker moments with humor, camaraderie and hope.
What makes This Is Panther Country especially compelling is the way that he weaves the personal and the communal. You see the author as a 13-year-old just trying to reconcile school, friends and adolescence, but always with his eyes and heart on the basketball season and what it means to be part of something larger. Detection of race, class and social
tensions are not glossed over—they’re part of the texture of the era. This book shows how sport, community pride, and shared goals can bridge divisions.
His characters are warm and real. Coach Roy Koelbel, star player Glenn Vickers, memories of family, and friendships all feel well-rounded—it’s clear McKeown respects them and wants you to care about them as much as he does. The “knock-down trilogy” of games with Amityville forms not only the narrative backbone, but also an emotional core. These pivotal matches are described with enough technical detail to satisfy basketball fans, yet with humanity that connects regardless of sporting interest.
If there is a slight limitation, it may be that those readers who are unfamiliar with or uninterested in basketball may find some of the game descriptions dense—but even then, the storytelling carries you through. Ultimately, This Is Panther Country succeeds beautifully as more than just a sports memoir. It is a memoir about growing up, about hope, about the bonds that form in the crucible of competition, and about how underdog spirit defines us. It’s the kind of book that makes you cheer, smile, sometimes wince, and remember your own younger self. It is a highly recommended read for anyone who loves a good underdog story, nostalgic slice-of-life, or just wants to feel inspired.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Tom McKeown was born in Queens, New York, and now lives in Plano with his wife, where they raised two kids. Growing up on Long Island, Tom attended Babylon High School, where he was both a fan and participant in the basketball program. He later graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, where he also broadcast basketball games on campus and radio. Tom remains close to family and friends from his hometown and fondly recalls the mid-1970s, when Babylon basketball was a regional power.

In September 1985, six women met in Grapevine Park with a shared vision to build friendships, foster leadership and give back to their community. That meeting planted the seeds for the Southlake Women’s Club (SWC). Forty years later, SWC celebrates a legacy of service, leadership and generosity. Members marked the milestone with a luncheon and “les ladies en blanc” fashion show and tea party at The Westin Dallas Southlake, featuring local clothiers Malouf’s, XAR Clothier, Miss J, Evereve, Athleta, and J. McLaughlin. Sponsors included SkinRX and Dr. Lindsay Tavakolian. SWC’s early efforts supported the local volunteer fire department and college scholarships— growing over time into larger initiatives. In 2000, the club launched Art in the Square, a free, nationally recognized and juried art festival hosting 150 artists and 30,000+ visitors annually. Over four decades, SWC has dispersed $3.6 million to nonprofits, $600,000 to Carroll ISD schools, provided scholarships to graduates, and hosted a senior Valentine’s luncheon for 25 years. “Forty years ago, our mission was simple: make a difference in Southlake,” shares SWC President Jessica Smith. “Today, we celebrate the impact members have made and the community that has supported us every step of the way.” SWC continues to empower women to serve, lead and give, strengthening the community they all love.

In this edition of Who’s Who in Business, we shine a spotlight on the visionary leaders who are redefining what it means to succeed in their communities. From creating spaces where women feel confident and celebrated, to building businesses that prioritize holistic wellness, to guiding families and individuals toward financial security, and restoring the gift of hearing for those who thought it was lost, these professionals exemplify dedication, expertise, and heart. Each profile tells a story of innovation, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to serving others—proof that leadership is not just about the titles or the accolades, but about the meaningful impact one leaves on the lives they touch.
Who’s Who in Business

Behind the success of Allure Intimate Apparel is Tanja Hristovski, a woman devoted to helping others look and feel their best. With a passion for confidence and comfort, Tanja leads with heart, building a brand that celebrates every woman’s shape, size and story — proving that true beauty begins with the right foundation of support.
Lingerie shopping is more than just finding a bra—it’s an experience that blends equal parts excitement, uncertainty, and hope for that perfect fit. At Allure Intimate Apparel, that moment becomes empowering. Founded as a familyowned business in 2003, Allure has grown into a trusted foundations and lingerie boutique with locations across Wisconsin, Minnesota and Texas, where the focus is on celebrating women of every shape, size and age. At the heart of Allure’s Texas presence is Tanja Hristovski, District Manager and brand ambassador for both confidence and comfort. With her background in fashion and her passion for helping women feel their best, she leads with grace, expertise and empathy—values that define the Allure experience.
From Fashion Model to Fit Expert Hristovski’s journey began on the runway. Her first job as a fashion model immersed her in the world of style and design, but also revealed a truth that continues to inspire her today. “That shaped my career,” she admits. “I realized how essential undergarments are—not only for how our clothes look, but for how confident and comfortable we feel wearing them.” That insight became her calling. Today overseeing Allure’s Texas locations in Southlake and Dallas, she’s helping women discover the power of a well-fitting bra.
The Allure Experience
Allure Intimate Apparel stands apart for expertise, inclusivity and a personal touch. The boutiques carry more than 150 bra sizes (28–48, A through K), making it one of the few stores in the region that truly offers a fit for every woman. “Our goal is to help every client find her perfect fit in a warm, professional, comfortable atmosphere,” Hristovski explains. “So far, there hasn’t been a woman we haven’t been able to fit.” Each location is staffed by highly trained fit specialists who have collectively performed more than 500,000 fittings to date. Every visit is a personalized experience that helps them look better, but also improves posture, circulation and overall comfort. “Our team understands the whole-body benefit of a supportive bra,” she notes. “It’s not just about appearance—it’s about wellness, confidence and self-care.” In addition to bras, Allure offers sport, leisure, and nursing bras in all sizes, as well as an elegant selection of swimwear, pajamas, robes, shapewear, and European lingerie. “It’s a onestop destination where women find everything they need to feel comfortable and beautiful.”
The Allure experience is as much emotional as it is physical. Every fitting is an opportunity to connect, educate, and uplift. “We take pride in creating a space where women can feel seen, supported and celebrated,” Hristovski says. “Our job is to meet them where they are in life—

whether it’s everyday comfort, maternity, or postsurgery care. Seeing the happiness on a client’s face after a fitting—that moment when she stands taller, smiles bigger, and realizes how great she feels—that’s everything,” she says smiling.
Allure’s care extends beyond its boutiques and into the community. The company donates bras to I Support The Girls, which provides essentials to women in need, and proudly partners with organizations including the Colleyville Women’s Club, Operation Kindness, The Family Place Partners Card, and also Attorneys Serving the Community (ASC). “Giving back is an essential part of who we are,” she says. Through these partnerships, Allure continues to uphold its mission—empowering women and supporting them through every season of life.
When asked about her biggest influences, Tanja credits the remarkable women she’s worked with and her faith, which guides her daily. “One of my greatest mentors is Sarah Gash, Allure Intimate Apparel President. She’s gracious with knowledge, patient in her teaching, and truly inspiring to work with.” But her ultimate teacher, she adds, is God. “Faith reminds me to always stay open to learning something new every day,” she says. Her favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, is her anchor: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ “That verse gives
me strength,” she shares. “It reminds me to keep going, no matter what happens.”
For Tanja, success is defined not by titles, but by impact. “Success means helping more women feel confident, supported and beautiful from the inside out,” she notes. “Success is living joyfully, making a difference and uplifting others.” Though committed to her work, she values balance. “I’m passionate about growing the business, but I also take time to reconnect with family and friends. Those moments help me stay grounded.”
When she’s not in the boutique, she’s exploring her favorite local shopping destinations where she keeps up with fashion’s latest trends. She’s also a beauty and skincare enthusiast, especially Snow Geisha Skincare, and enjoys dining at Truluck’s, her go-to restaurant. Music also fuels her spirit. Her favorite song, “Think of Me” from The Phantom of the Opera, reminds her of the beauty and strength she sees in her clients every day.
Through her leadership and heartfelt approach, Tanja Hristovski has helped make Allure Intimate Apparel more than a lingerie store—it’s a place where confidence is cultivated and women are celebrated. “Every woman deserves to feel beautiful, supported and seen—if I can help even one person feel that way each day, then I know that I have done my job.”

For Paul D. Alwine, becoming a financial advisor was never about numbers on a page — it was about people, families, and the dreams they carry into retirement. With over 25 years in the financial services industry, Paul has dedicated his career to helping others navigate the often overwhelming transition from saving for retirement to actually living in retirement.
Paul’s inspiration to enter the financial world began with his own family story. “My parents lived paycheck to paycheck and didn’t plan properly for retirement,” he explains. “As a result, they weren’t able to live the retirement they had hoped for. And, it doesn’t have to be that way for others.” That realization lit a fire in Paul to make a difference—to guide individuals, couples, and businesses toward stronger and more confident financial futures. Paul recognized a turning point early in his career. “I knew that if I wanted to truly help people, I needed to step into a role where I could build long-term relationships, not just provide short-term fixes.”
Paul counts his first “big win” in business as the moment he helped a client achieve retirement savings goals and step into retirement confidently. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see the relief and joy on a client’s face when they realize they’re ready for this next stage of life,” he boasts. Of course, the path hasn’t been without lessons. “One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that life is dynamic—which means financial strategies must be dynamic, too,” Paul shares. “My priority is to know you and understand your needs, wants and wishes. Many folks who seek me out want to be financially organized, and to feel understood, informed, and in control. Through job changes, marriage, adoptions, births and deaths, I work with my clients to ensure that their investment and financial strategies continue to be tailored to their specific needs. I work with clients to adjust strategies as life unfolds. Flexibility is key.”
When asked to sum up his company’s mission in one sentence, Paul doesn’t hesitate: “I help clients feel informed, understood, and in control of their financial future.” This guiding principle shapes every decision he makes. Integrity, empathy and clarity are the values he holds at the center of his work. “I want clients to walk away from every meeting feeling confident and reassured,” he explains. The financial industry itself has evolved dramatically in recent years. Technology plays a vital role in portfolio reviews and planning, but he emphasizes human connection as irreplaceable. People don’t just want information—they want to feel understood and in control. That’s where trust and personal attention matter most.”
Paul and his wife, Cynthia, have called Southlake home since their marriage in 2002. In 2015, they adopted their son, JD. They enjoy exploring new places and spending quality time as a family. For Paul, Southlake isn’t just home—it’s where lasting connections have been built. In addition to his work as a financial advisor, he’s deeply engaged in community, serving on boards of the Carroll

Education Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, and Taste of Southlake. Through the foundation, he helps close critical funding gaps for Carroll schools and through the Southlake Chamber he champions growth and success of local businesses. He also helps to spotlight the city’s vibrant restaurant scene while supporting the Tarrant County Food Bank with every dollar raised at Taste of Southlake. In his downtime, Paul enjoys history, museums, skiing, scuba diving, and music—but most of all, he treasures time with family. Few people know about his passion for scuba diving. “There’s something about being underwater that clears your mind and gives you new perspective,” he says with a smile. And if he weren’t a financial advisor? Paul imagines himself possibly teaching history. “I’ve always been fascinated by how the past shapes the present. In many ways, that ties back to what I do now—helping people learn from the past to plan for their future.”
At Edward Jones, Paul specializes in business retirement plans, retirement savings and income strategies, estate and legacy planning, portfolio reviews, and comprehensive wealth strategies. His education and certifications reflect not only years of experience, but also a commitment to lifelong learning. In addition to acquiring the Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses, Paul holds the ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant), RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional) and CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter) designations. Each deepens his ability to serve his clients in practical, meaningful ways.
The ChFC® designation expanded his knowledge in planning for business and individual retirement needs, tax-sensitive investment strategies, risk management and insurance, and estate and gifttax strategies. This expertise allows him to craft personalized strategies that take into account not only long-term growth but also tax efficiency and legacy planning. The RICP® designation gave him specialized insight into retirement income strategies—from maximizing the Social Security benefits to navigating health care and long-term care considerations. This is especially valuable for clients transitioning from saving for retirement to actually living it. Finally, the CLU® designation strengthened his foundation in life insurance, estate planning, and wealth transfer, equipping him to help families protect what matters most and prepare for the unexpected. Together, these credentials allow Paul to provide his clients with holistic, well-rounded guidance. “It’s not just about building wealth,” he admits. “It’s about protecting it, then making it last, and ultimately ensuring it supports the life you want to live.”
After more than two decades in the industry, Paul is still driven by the same motivation that started it all—helping people achieve the retirement they dream of. It’s this same commitment to people, not just portfolios, that continues to guide Paul’s work every single day. In the end, Paul’s greatest reward is knowing he’s helped clients turn their retirement vision into reality—and them knowing that they never have to walk their journey alone.

At its core, Impact Performance promotes the concept of “gym family.” Members aren’t just faces behind barbell lifts—they are all part of a supportive network. Friendships form, accountability builds and the energy is contagious. “We believe fitness is a collective journey,” admits Itzla. “It’s not just what you do on your own— it’s how the people around you lift you up.” That sense of belonging draws fitness newcomers and veteran athletes alike, creating an inclusive environment where “everyone feels right at home,” regardless of experience or goals.
Impact has earned a reputation for outstanding customer experience and results. Testimonials highlight life changes—renewed confidence, health successes and improved performance. Under Itzla’s leadership, the gym is now a local benchmark for excellence. For her, the reward lies in watching a once-struggling member lift more weight, complete a transformation, or send in a post-workout selfie with pride.
In an exciting new chapter, Impact Performance and Fitness is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week—making it easier than ever for

members to fit wellness into their schedules. Whether you’re an early riser, a night owl, or someone balancing work and family life, the gym’s new 24-hour access ensures fitness is always on your terms. The change came after the Impact Performance team recognized evolving member needs and industry trends. Their insights inspired the shift as part of the commitment to flexibility, convenience and support for every lifestyle. Life isn’t just 9-5—so your gym shouldn’t be either.
One of Impact’s guiding principles is no onesize-fits-all training. Itzla and her team pair members with trainers who match their goals, preferences and fitness level—whether that’s strength building, weight loss, recovery or performance training. “Some thrive one-onone—others flourish in small groups,” she notes. “We meet you where you are and help you grow from there.” Members may access the gym independently at any hour, but the option to lean into expert guidance remains.
Everyone is invited. Impact offers a free 3-day pass, including gym access, a guided tour, and equipment demonstrations. New members can also unlock a 2-week pass or receive $25 off your first month. Whether you’re just starting out or pushing toward a new personal best, the Impact team would love to help you feel at home in the gym—any hour, any day. Experience the difference for yourself. At Impact Performance
and Fitness, you won’t just find a gym—you’ll find a community that supports you, challenges you, and celebrates your progress every step of the way. Whether you’re ready to recommit to your health or simply looking for a place that feels like home, now’s the perfect time to take the first step. Stop by for a free three-day pass, meet the team, and discover why so many Southlake locals are making Impact their 24-hour destination for fitness, friendship and transformation.
Beyond the gym’s operations, Kim carves out time for her passions. She supports animal rescue causes, children’s nonprofits, and also champions community giving. On weekends, she trades fitness energy for quiet moments with her rescue dogs—recharging her spirit in between schedules with her canine companions.
At Impact Performance and Fitness, every visit is more than a workout—it’s a chance to grow, connect and celebrate your journey. Kim and her team have created a space where strength, wellness and community come together, where members support one another and feel truly seen. Open now 24/7, the gym meets you where you are, whatever your schedule or goals. Step onto the floor, feel the energy, and experience a place that cares as much about your confidence and well-being as your results. With a free 3-day pass, there’s no better time to join a community that lifts you up—every step of the way.

For nearly three decades, Dr. Melissa Danchak has made it her life’s work to help people reconnect — to conversations, laughter, and the sounds that make life full. As owner of Kos/Danchak Audiology & Hearing Aids, she continues a legacy of compassionate, evidence-based care that began more than 40 years ago.
MELISSA DANCHAK, AU.D., CCC-A
The story of Kos/Danchak began in 1984, when audiologist Susanne Kos opened one of the first private-practice audiology clinics in Arlington. When illness later led Kos to seek a successor, a young graduate student at the University of Texas at Dallas was introduced to her. “My professor asked if I’d be interested in interviewing with a friend who owned a practice,” she recalls. “The rest is history.” Nearly 30 years later, Danchak continues to grow that original vision—one centered on quality, compassion, and community.
While many clinics focus solely on testing and fittings, Kos/Danchak’s approach is deeply personal. “We don’t just fit hearing aids,” she explains. “We listen to each patient’s story and goals. Then we perform comprehensive evaluations based on best practices to develop an truly individualized treatment plan.” Because the clinic works with a wide range of hearing aid manufacturers, patients benefit from more choices and customized solutions. Kos/Danchak also goes far beyond traditional services, offering advanced tinnitus management—including the newest FDA-approved Lenire treatment device—and neurodiagnostic vestibular testing for those struggling with dizziness and imbalance. “For me it’s not just about the technology—it’s about transformation,” Danchak admits. “When a patient tells me they can finally hear their grandchildren again, that’s what success looks like.”
The hearing industry has seen major changes in recent years, from online sales and big-box even retailers to the rise of over-the-counter hearing aids. Danchak believes these trends often blur the line between consumer goods and healthcare. “Too often, hearing loss is treated as a quick transaction rather than a medical condition,” she says. “Patients think it’s about the device, but it’s really about the expertise and ongoing care behind it.” Rather than compete on convenience, she leads with education. Through community talks, social media outreach, and professional collaboration with physicians, she continues to raise awareness about the importance of professional hearing care. “I have seen so many patients come to us frustrated after trying other avenues,” she notes. “Once they receive proper fitting and follow-up, they can finally enjoy life again.”
In 2023, Danchak’s dedication was recognized when she received the City of Arlington’s FemaleOwned Small Business of the Year award. “It was such an honor,” she says. “To be acknowledged for serving this community and making a difference in people’s lives means so much.” That commitment is visible not only in her patient care but also in her investment in the city itself. She re-

cently purchased a building in downtown to house her practice—helping contribute to the area’s revitalization and ensuring her business remains a fixture in the community. She also participates in local health fairs, speaks to civic organizations, and partners with local physicians to improve early detection of hearing loss.
Beyond her work in audiology, Dr. Melissa Danchak is deeply engaged in her community. She actively supports Mission Arlington, helping provide essential resources and services to those in need, and participates in Women Inspiring Philanthropy, a network dedicated to empowering women through charitable initiatives. In addition, she contributes to the Chamber of Commerce, fostering business growth and strengthening connections. Through these efforts, Dr. Danchak demonstrates that her commitment to hearing health extends far beyond the clinic walls.
The success of her business is inseparable from her values. “My work is very important to me, but my family comes first,” she says. When her kids were young, she worked part-time and hired support staff to balance career and motherhood. As they grew, she expanded the practice—yet still makes time to volunteer at church, play pickleball, and enjoy date nights with her husband. Her faith remains her foundation through every challenge. “God is faithful,” she says simply. “If I trust in Him, He will guide me and make a way.” Dr.
Melissa Danchak draws much of her inspiration from her father, whose unwavering support and example have shaped her career. From her first day in practice, he encouraged her to work hard, stay focused, and persevere through challenges. His pride in her accomplishments continues to motivate her reminding her success is built on perseverance, humility and love for what you do.
As technology continues to evolve, so does the future of Kos/Danchak Audiology & Hearing Aids. She hopes to expand her reach through physician education, tinnitus care programs, and possibly a third location in Mansfield. “There’s always more work to do, and more people we can help.” Through it all, she remains guided by her favorite verse, Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” That spirit of service is more than a motto—it’s the heartbeat of everything they do.
For Dr. Danchak, success is measured not only in audiological expertise, but in the lives she helps transform. From restoring the joy of conversation to guiding patients through advanced hearing and vestibular care, her work has a profound impact on local families. She exemplifies the power of professional excellence rooted in compassion. Patients, colleagues and neighbors alike see her as more than an audiologist—they see a trusted partner in health, a community leader, and expert whose work truly makes a difference every day.

Specialty | At The Benefit Link, we provide the essential guidance you need to make informed Medicare decisions without sacrificing your coverage or your peace of mind. My husband Stewart and I founded The Benefit Link to help people navigate what can often feel like an overwhelming process. We work with clients to choose the plan that best supports their healthcare needs while protecting their finances from costly medical bills. With more than 30 years of experience, we are fully licensed insurance agents and dedicated advocates for our clients. We advocate for all ages and insurance—including, but not limited to, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), ACA (under 65), life insurance, annuities, long-term and short-term care, as well as cancer, dental and vision plans.
Why Choose Us | Our consultations are always a free service, and we’re open five days a week, Monday through Friday. We proudly serve all 50 states and have access to every major insurance carrier, ensuring you receive the best possible plan for you. When you work with The Benefit Link, you’re not just signing up for a policy—you gain a partner who walks with you through every step of your healthcare journey.
What Sets Us Apart | What sets us apart is that we are completely independent—meaning we’re not tied to any one insurance carrier. That independence gives us the freedom to compare nearly every major plan and find the one that truly fits your situation. We carefully research premium trends, company stability and customer service reputations so you can make informed decisions with confidence. We approach our work with a deep sense of purpose and faith. We pray for our clients daily, trusting that God has a good plan for their lives. Our goal is not just to help you enroll in a plan—it’s to serve you with compassion, honesty, and integrity. Healthcare isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is our service.
What You Can Expect | When you reach out to The Benefit Link, you can expect a transparent and stress-free experience. There’s never a cost for our services—our help is completely free to you. Medicare Supplement plans are standardized by the federal government, which means the coverage is the same no matter which company you choose. Differences lie in cost, carrier stability and service—and that’s where we come in. Whether you are new to Medicare, exploring supplement plans, or reviewing your current
coverage, you can count on us for honest advice. And our relationship doesn’t end after enrollment—we are here year-round to assist with any changes or new insurance needs that arise. You’ll always have a trusted advocate by your side.
Who We Help | While most of our clients are over 65, Medicare isn’t just for seniors—and neither are we. There are many ways to qualify for Medicare at a younger age, and we’re here to help anyone who needs guidance—regardless of age or health status. We also assist clients looking for life insurance, annuities, and other forms of financial protection. Many people come to us after feeling overwhelmed by the number of choices or frustrated by impersonal corporate systems. Whether you’re newly retired, managing a chronic condition, or simply planning ahead, we’ll help you understand your options and make choices that fit your life and budget.
Our Inspiration | This work is truly our calling. My passion for Medicare advocacy is deeply personal. When my sister was just seven, she was diagnosed with diabetes. By age 20, she had undergone a kidney transplant, and by 23, she was on Medicare. Sadly, she passed away at 35. Walking that road with her— and later helping both of my parents navigate their own Medicare journeys while battling COPD and cancer—taught me how vital peace of mind and proper coverage truly are. Those experiences shaped my heart for this work. No one should have to face complicated healthcare decisions alone. The Benefit Link was born from that desire—to serve others with empathy, knowledge, and genuine care. “Our why” has always been to advocate for every client as if they were family, ensuring they feel supported, cared for, and confident in their coverage.
Making A Difference | At The Benefit Link, we know these decisions are personal. While many treat healthcare as a transaction, we treat it as a relationship. Medicare may be standardized, but people are not—and that’s why our guidance is always personal, objective and rooted in genuine care. Our mission is to serve with excellence, offering a level of compassion that’s too often missing in today’s world. With one-onone support, we take the stress and confusion out of Medicare. Our promise is simple: you’ll always have someone to rely on who will stand in your corner and advocate for your best interest. That’s how we make a difference—one client, one family, one life at a time.

Specialty | David Martin & Son Roofing repairs or replaces residential or commercial roofing projects— no matter how small the roof repair or how large the replacement contract. We’re focused on building long-term relationships—one roof at a time. With almost 30 years of experience, we deliver quality work done right the first time. You can trust us to repair your roof swiftly and restore your home’s protection.
Why Choose Us | We truly love our community and helping our neighbors protect their biggest investment—their homes. And David Martin & Son Roofing has been doing exactly that with honesty and integrity since 1996. When our clients have any roofing needs, they know who to call—and they know that we will always be there to help!
What Sets Us Apart | Even if our clients don’t know the first thing about roofing, they will rely on the truth—and the truth always has a sweet sound to it. They’ll remember that we always tell the truth.
Commitment | David Martin & Son Roofing is dedicated to safeguarding homeowners from the challenges posed by roofing problems, including damage from wind, hail and lightning. With a deep commitment to quality and customer care, we offer comprehensive roofing solutions that ensure homes remain secure and well-maintained. Whether you are dealing with the aftermath of a storm or planning a major renovation, local homeowners trust David Martin & Son Roofing to deliver top-notch results and exceptional service.
Defining Success | We define our success by being able to help and serve others. We are driven by a philosophy that our success will ultimately be determined more by the number of people we help, rather than the amount of roofs we install.
Giving Back | Paramount to us is relationshipbuilding and this carries over into our community involvement by contributing to many local nonprofits, city, chamber, sports and schools organizations. From making cash donations to rebuild local baseball fields for students, to supporting school programs, cheer squads, and environmental initiatives like Save Eagle Mountain Lake—we are as committed to our com-
munity as we are to quality craftsmanship. As longtime Colleyville residents, we’re deeply rooted in the community and will always be here when you need us. Unlike those fly-by-night roofing companies that chase storms and leave homeowners high-and-dry, we are a trusted local presence you can count on. Continuing to support local children in sporting programs in our school districts is important to us, in addition to also contributing to local community police departments. Most of all, we support all of our United States soldiers who lay down their lives for us and our country.
Greatest Professional Accomplishment | It is an honor to be recognized in the industry as one of the top roofing companies in the area. We’re proud to have been designated as a ‘Best’ and ‘Top’ roofer consistently within Tarrant County by the community and local publications. We have been voted the Top Roofing Company in Tarrant County by Society Life Magazine for five consecutive years—2021 through 2025. In addition, we’re honored to be inductees into Marquis Who’s Who in America—David was in 2021 and I was inducted in 2022.
All in the Family | While David & Son may be the namesakes, Jennifer Martin is the force behind the scenes—and often on the roof. She brings grit and sharp business sense to the roofing world, leading the company to countless awards and recognition for breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry. Known for her integrity, mentorship and uncanny ability to diagnose issues by ear, Jennifer has helped build a business rooted in trust and community— roofing over half the homes in one North Texas neighborhood through word-of-mouth alone. Today, their son Jake carries that legacy forward, blending fresh ideas with the same dedication to quality and service that defines the Martin family name.
You Should Know | We fight dishonesty with honesty. We know that a handful of dishonest contractors can tarnish the reputation of the greater roofing industry. And while we can’t control how those bad operators run their businesses, we stand on integrity, trust and strong personal relationships to build goodwill for our company.

Specialty | With other dentists, if a patient needs help with multiple missing or decayed teeth, they usually have to bounce between different dental offices to get everything they need. With The DFW Dental Implant Center, however, even the most complicated dental cases can all be handled in just one convenient location. Dr. Steven Branberg is a general dentist and prosthodontic expert, meaning he has extensive knowledge and experience repairing and replacing teeth using the most advanced techniques and materials available today. He’s able to perform the entire dental implant procedure from start to finish. His goal for every patient is for them to have a smile that looks great, feels even better, and can be trusted to last a lifetime. After Dr. Branberg rehabs someone’s smile, he and the rest of his team are also able to provide ongoing preventive care to ensure their patients enjoy optimal oral health for decades to come.
Why Choose a Prosthodontist | Patients choose a Prosthodontist because of their advanced education and training, efficiency, and expertise with advanced technology. Prosthodontists are extensively trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating complex dental conditions and restoring optimum function and esthetics. The term “prostho” actually means replacement and “dontist” means dealing with teeth. Essentially, Prosthodontists are the recognized experts when anything needs to be replaced in your mouth. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums in the mouth. While many other dentists can do some of these treatments, Prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care, and why so many trust their expertise.
What Clients Can Expect | Unlike dentures or dental bridges, getting dental implants is a multi-step process that spans the course of several months. While this may seem like quite a while, it’s this thorough and unique placement that ensures the results are comfortable and long-lasting. In fact, dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime! During your consultation, Dr. Branberg will walk you through your entire treatment plan step-by-step.
What Sets Us Apart | What sets Dr. Branberg apart from other dentists and prosthodontists is that he completes every stage of the dental implant treat-
ment himself—including both the surgical placement and the restoration. He’s also given numerous presentations to general dentists on various aspects of prosthodontics, including lectures titled A Systematic Approach to Complete Dentures, Removable Partial Dentures for the General Practitioner, and Implant and Tooth-borne Full-Mouth Reconstructions. He believes that sharing his knowledge and experience with other dental colleagues only helps to improve every patient’s results!
Dental Implant Difference | The reason dental implants are so special is that they are the only restoration that brings back an entire tooth both above and below the gumline. Compared to traditional tooth replacements, dental implants provide a stable foundation by replacing the missing roots and fusing directly to the jawbone. With dental implants, your replacement teeth are bonded securely, so you can enjoy a truly lifelike smile. This is why dental implants have become the gold standard in the dentistry field for missing or failing teeth.
Improving Lives | Dr. Branberg (also known as “Dr. B”) started practicing here in Texas in 2011, and he’s proud to be a dedicated Colleyville dentist and prosthodontist—helping countless patients achieve incredible smile transformations. He not only improves their dental health, but also helps them feel more outgoing and confident in their everyday life.
You Should Know | Thanks to his prosthodontic training, Dr. Branberg knows a thing or two about replacing missing teeth, having rebuilt countless smiles over the course of his career. Whenever someone comes to see him wanting to replace their missing teeth, his first recommendation is always dental implants. Why? Because they offer the best of everything in a single treatment—unmatched aesthetics, supreme functionality, and sturdy construction that can last for decades. When you are ready to enjoy a full and confident smile again, dental implants are your best answer—and you can get them at The DFW Dental Implant Center in Colleyville. Is your smile in need of some serious help? If so, Dr. Steven Branberg is ready to provide everything you need at the highest possible level. Specialty | Since 1989, James Landscaping has specialized in Landscape Design and Installation of residential properties, including patios, water features, landscape lighting, irrigation (LI 26819), drainage, organic fertilizer and bed maintenance.
Strong Foundation | James Landscaping is a full-service contracting company that’s capable of arranging all aspects of your outdoor living space. Our team offers integrated plans for phased work or future installation to make each project manageable. A commitment to overall quality work and customer satisfaction is our cornerstone.
In The Beginning | During the initial visit to a client’s home, our focus is primarily on listening— understanding their concerns, ideas, and overall vision for their yard. From there, we develop thoughtful solutions for any problem areas and provide a quote for a design fee if one is required.
What Set Us Apart | First and foremost, we listen closely to our clients’ wishes and visions, creating custom-designed, CAD-generated landscapes and outdoor living spaces that honor and preserve the environment. Our hard-working and experienced crews take pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship and service on every project. Above all, our team remains committed to ongoing education, staying informed on the latest research in
plant health and promoting the use of organic fertilization for sustainable, thriving landscapes.
Transformations | As North Texas homeowners, we understand that a yard can come with as many challenges as opportunities. Steep slopes, heavy shade, drainage problems, and patchy grass turn outdoor spaces into underused areas—or even eyesores. But with the right approach, any yard can be reimagined into a functional, beautiful retreat. With smart water management, durable hardscapes, and plantings that thrive in our Texas climate, we turn problems into enjoyable spaces that add true value to your home.
For Success | When your team treats the business as their own, it creates a strong sense of pride and purpose—everyone works together toward a shared goal of delivering results we can all stand behind. We take pride in following through on our commitments and showing up when we say we will, which has led to steady growth and a loyal base of repeat clients year after year. We work hard to set the standard for quality craftsmanship that stands the test of time and the harsh North Texas elements. The result is lasting beauty that provides homeowners with a relaxing outdoor retreat while also adding lasting value to their property.

Specialty | At PEMF Recovery Plus, we help people find real, lasting relief from pain, fatigue and inflammation, without drugs or surgery. PEMF therapy (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) uses low-level electromagnetic waves to recharge your body at the cellular level. This restores electrical balance in stressed or damaged cells, improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and speeding up healing. FDA-approved and backed by decades of research, PEMF therapy is a safe, noninvasive, and scientifically proven way to help your body heal naturally.
What Sets Us Apart | Pain won’t wait for an appointment, and recovery shouldn’t either. That’s why we offer 24/7 access to PEMF therapy through flexible memberships with no long-term contracts. Members can come in anytime, day or night, because healing should fit your life, not the other way around. Unlike traditional clinics that rely on prescriptions or invasive procedures, we provide a natural, science-backed approach that restores your body’s ability to heal itself.
Who We Help | PEMF therapy is for anyone ready to feel better. Whether you’re an athlete recovering from a workout, healing after surgery or injury, or living with chronic pain, arthritis or fatigue, PEMF can help. Many clients also use it to improve sleep, boost circulation, and speed post-workout recovery. It’s not just for those in pain, it’s for anyone who wants to perform and feel their best every day.
Our Inspiration | Our co-founder Drew discovered PEMF therapy after battling chronic knee pain for more than a decade. I had tried every treatment imaginable to avoid surgery, but nothing worked until PEMF. After 10 sessions in a month, the difference was unbelievable. My pain was drastically reduced,
and I could move freely again. Even more surprising were the unexpected benefits like better sleep and improved prostate function. I knew PEMF was going to be part of my life permanently. When the clinic wouldn’t offer unlimited use, I bought a commercialgrade machine for my home. Within a year, my testosterone levels increased 47%, my Plantar Fasciitis healed, and both knees were stronger than ever. My doctor was amazed. That’s when PEMF Recovery Plus was born. We knew we had to make this lifechanging technology accessible to everyone, without barriers or restrictions.
What Clients Can Expect | Every journey is unique. Some feel relief after one session, others improve gradually as their body restores balance. During a session, you’ll simply relax as gentle, pulsing energy recharges your cells. Most clients describe it as light and soothing. Many notice better circulation, energy, sleep, mobility, and nine out of ten report at least 75% pain reduction within 15 sessions. Our goal is to make recovery comfortable, effective and simple so you can get back to the things you love.
Defining Success | Success is witnessing transformations every day. Clients walk in with pain or fatigue and leave with renewed energy. Specialty | I’m Rosie Vann-Salam, the proud owner of Rose & Rivets Boutique in Colleyville—a women’s fashion destination all about style, confidence and connection. As a curator of chic styles and trends, I’m passionate about helping every woman build the wardrobe of her dreams. From standout pieces for every season to show-stopping looks for every event, Rose & Rivets is your go-to spot to discover incredible fashion that makes you feel confident, inspired and ready to take on the world!
R&R Inspiration | Although my fashion career didn’t start until my 30s, I quickly found my place in the industry. I began at White House Black Market in Southlake Town Square before co-founding Couture in a Can, a mobile boutique housed in a chic airstream. For eight years, my business partner and I brought fashion directly to our customers’ doorsteps. After working as a brand ambassador for another local boutique and hosting live social media shows during the pandemic, I launched MR—a men’s line that led me to open Rose & Rivets Boutique.
Where Style Comes to Life | Here at Rose & Rivets Boutique in Colleyville, we love bringing fashion and fun to our community. Every Wednesday at 5pm, I host our Live Fashion Shows on Facebook, where you can see all of our latest arrivals, get styling tips, and grab special deals you won’t find anywhere else. From casual chic to bold statement pieces, I’m truly passionate about helping you stay on trend while enjoying a personal, local boutique experience.
R&R Happy Hours | One of my favorite things to do is host our weekly Happy Hours at Rose & Rivets, where you can sip, shop and socialize with us and the rest of the R&R babes! You are invited to join me every Thursday afternoon from 3-5:30pm at our Colleyville store for a fun, relaxed way to browse the latest styles, enjoy good company, and treat yourself to something special. It is the perfect midweek pickme-up with fashion, friends, and a little sparkle!
Let’s Shop Girlfriend | I absolutely love helping friends make shopping a super fun and memorable experience with our Girlfriend Shopping Parties! Get in touch with me to schedule your own private event, where you and your Fashion Family can browse

latest styles, try on outfits, and enjoy exclusive deals in a relaxed, personal setting. It’s the perfect way to shop for the upcoming holidays—whether you’re looking for the perfect party outfit or picking out gifts—while celebrating special occasions, catching up with your crew, and indulging in some retail therapy together.
Honors & Awards | I’m proud that Rose & Rivets has earned several accolades, including Best Boutique and Best Personal Stylist, Small Business of the Year, and Community Contributor. But beyond awards, my greatest achievement is helping women see their own beauty and strength in new ways. Giving back is also close to my heart—I actively support a variety of local organizations making a difference in our community.
My Happy Place | Owning R&R is such a dream... but my true passion? Teaching you how to take one great piece and style it a dozen different ways. Fashion should be fun, wearable, and all about you—not a one-and-done outfit! Whether you’re dressing up for an event or making your everyday feel a little more playful, I’m here to help you build a wardrobe you actually wear—because that’s my happy place. Come visit me at R&R, and let’s play dress-up!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Greater Good is featuring I Support The Girls, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity and comfort to women in need —especially those affected by breast cancer — through essential items and compassionate support.

I Support The Girls (ISTG) is a global movement dedicated to restoring dignity through simple, essential acts of care. What began in 2015 as one woman’s effort to deliver bras to a homeless shelter has since grown into an international network providing bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products to women facing homelessness, poverty, displacement, illness or crisis. Whether supporting breast cancer survivors, refugees, or youth in foster care,I Support The Girls reminds us that no one should have to choose between basic necessities and a better future. Together, we can make dignity the norm.

When Dana Marlowe walked into a bra store in 2015, she had no idea she was about to change thousands of lives. “I’d lost some weight and needed new bras,” she recalls. “I asked the sales woman what to do with my old ones that still had life in them. She said, ‘Homeless women need bras.’” That simple, four-word answer sparked a movement that would grow from a single Facebook post into a worldwide nonprofit.
Dana, a business owner, mother, and longtime human rights advocate, had spent years creating accessibility solutions for people with disabilities through her company, Accessibility Partners. But this moment, she recalls, was different. “I realized that something as basic as a bra or menstrual hygiene product was out of reach for women in need,” Dana says. “I wanted to make sure no woman ever had to go without dignity.” That evening, she posted on Facebook, asking friends to search their drawers for gently used bras
I Support The Girls (ISTG) is a registered 501c3 nonprofit that collects new and gently used bras, as well as new tampons and maxi pads, and distributes them to girls and women experiencing homelessness. Founded by one woman in her Maryland home, ISTG has grown into a global movement with affiliates across the United States and beyond. For the 216,000 girls and women experiencing homelessness in the U.S., these essential items are often considered a luxury, forcing many to wear the same bra for years or use unsafe alternatives during their periods. ISTG’s mission is to provide these products so women and girls can maintain dignity, health and self respect.
and to toss an extra box of pads into their grocery carts. Friends shared the post, who shared it with their friends, and within two weeks, her home was overflowing with donations—from yoga studios, schools, coffee shops, churches, and hospitals, to corporations like Marriott, the USDA, and Quicken Loans. Packages arrived from as far as France, Hong Kong, and the UK. In just two weeks, Dana had packaged more than 7,000 items and delivered them to a Washington, D.C. shelter. But she didn’t stop there. From that first act of compas-
sion, I Support The Girls (ISTG) was born, dedicated to restoring dignity to women and girls through access to bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products.
A NETWORK OF COMPASSION Today, ISTG has 56 affiliates across the United States and beyond. Each affiliate collects and distributes essential products to women and girls experiencing homelessness, poverty, or distress. Local affiliate directors are the backbone of the movement, connecting with shelters, schools,

and social service organizations to ensure donations meet local needs. In Dallas–Fort Worth, for example, affiliate director Graciela Brewer not only distributes these products, but also visits schools to discuss hygiene and self-care with teens. Brewer, who moved from Veracruz, Mexico, to Texas in 1999, says joining ISTG allowed her to “do more in my community and help women stand tall with dignity.” Elana Lederman, who responded to Dana’s post, says: “I thought it was just another post from my friend Dana, but this one was different… I went to my dresser, found bras in good condition, and brought them to Dana’s house. Watching what that first drive has grown into is amazing.”
Breaking down stereotypes has long been a cornerstone of Dana’s advocacy. ISTG continues this mission by addressing an often-overlooked need—menstrual hygiene. “We talk non-stop,” Dana admits, “and the conversation has grown from local shelters to communities across the United States and even globally. We’re making sure women and girls don’t have to sacrifice dignity for survival.”
When disasters strike—hurricanes in Puerto Rico, wildfires in California, flooding in Houston, or war in Ukraine—ISTG mobilizes quickly. Periods and hygiene don’t stop for crises, and neither does the organization. Rachael Heger, ISTG’s
National Director of Affiliate Outreach, explains: “Our disaster response team delivers hundreds of thousands of products to those suddenly left with nothing. Overnight, we became one of the largest female-focused disaster relief agencies.”
Beyond daily distribution, ISTG’s Force for Change programs tackle complex issues. Customized A.S.H. Kits (Aid, Safety, and Hygiene) are sent to survivors of domestic violence, low-income menopausal women, transgender and nonbinary individuals, among others. “These kits are about really meeting people where they are,” Dana says. “We want everyone to know that we see you and we care.” The organization also serves other populations like breast cancer survivors, school districts, Native American reservations, migrants and refugees, correctional facilities, veterans, transgender youth, and more—ensuring access to essential products and dignity across all walks of life.
Nine years after that first Facebook post, I Support The Girls has built a global infrastructure with thousands of volunteers and partners. Boxes of bras and menstrual products are no longer just donations— they are symbols of dignity, compassion, and advocacy. Dana reflects: “Dignity is dignity. It’s not negotiable, and it should never be out of reach. That simple idea has carried us from one Facebook post to a movement spanning the globe.”
From a single Facebook post to a global nonprofit, Dana Marlowe’s vision shows how one person’s empathy can ignite real, lasting change. I Support The Girls has transformed the simple act of donating bras and menstrual products into a movement that restores dignity, sparks crucial conversations, and empowers women and girls across the globe. Every box, every kit, every donation carries more than just products—it carries a message: you are seen, you matter, and you deserve respect. From survivors of violence to displaced refugees, from students in underserved schools to veterans and menopausal women, ISTG reaches those often overlooked, providing essential items that often go unrecognized in traditional aid efforts.
The movement continues to grow, fueled by thousands of volunteers, affiliates and partners who share Dana’s belief that dignity should never be optional. What began in a bra store fitting room and a Facebook post has blossomed into a worldwide network of compassion. As ISTG expands its reach—from disaster relief to customized care programs and advocacy for marginalized populations— it reminds the world that change doesn’t always start big. Sometimes, it starts with a single question, a single act of empathy, and the courage to say, this matters. And through it all, one thing is clear. Dignity, one bra and one care package at a time, can truly change lives.

I’ve been on a real sangria kick lately and thought, why can’t sangria season go straight into fall? This apple cider sangria is the perfect drink to make when it’s still warm outside, but you want a cozy fall cocktail. This makes a whole pitcher and easily doubles. I used pinot grigio for the sangria, but any dry white wine will do. Most sangria recipes include a sweetener but I find apple cider plenty sweet already. If you want to make your own apple cider it’s so easy. Scan QR code below for recipe.
INGREDIENTS
1 large apple (honeycrisp or gala)
1 orange 2-4 cinnamon sticks
1 bottle dry white wine
2 cups apple cider
1/2 cup brandy, whiskey or rum
12 oz ginger beer
....................................................................
(1) Slice apple and place slices in a pitcher. Cut the orange in half.
....................................................................
(2) Juice half of the orange directly in the pitcher. Cut the remaining half into slices. Place orange slices and cinnamon sticks in the pitcher. Add white wine, apple cider, and brandy to the pitcher and give it a stir.
....................................................................
(1) Cover the pitcher and refrigerate two hours or overnight. Right before serving, stir in ginger beer.

REVIEW BY JENNIFER SLOAN
I officially met Emily Cornell in early 2024 while working a face-painting booth at our kids’ school. It was friends at first sight. She’s the wittiest gal I’ve ever met. After that, I always requested to volunteer with her. Fast forward to Fall 2024, and instead of helping at the school’s Fall Fest, she was running her own booth selling sourdough bread and flavored cream cheeses—witty and talented. The proof was in the empty container of birthday cake cream cheese I finished before my car had even made it out of the parking lot.
That was just the beginning for Emily—she’s kind of a big deal now. What started as whispers about the mom who might bring eclectic cookies to carline has grown into a fullfledged, highly sought-after bakery. After years of baking for friends and family, their encouragement finally pushed her to take the leap. A friend with a farmer’s market stand in Michigan (her second home) invited her to guest as a bread baker. “That was my first foray into working with customers and selling my creations,” she says. “It was such a blast, I decided to keep it going in Texas!” And so, Kindred Knead was born. I sat down with Emily—over sweet corn cookies and chocolate sourdough sheet cake—to learn more about how it all came together.
SL: Where did the name Kindred Knead come from? “I was stumped on a name, so I asked ChatGPT for help. It might sound impersonal, but it turned into a surprisingly fun and reflective exercise. It asked about my goals, why I love baking, and what inspires me. Kindred Knead stood out immediately, perfectly capturing the idea of people finding connection through the food I make.”
SL: What types of items are on menu drops? “I have ADHD, so my menu reflects that—it’s always changing, evolving and exploring... never sitting still! I rotate monthly cookie and bread flavors, choosing ingredients based on what’s growing in my garden or locally in season. Blueberries were abundant where we spent our summer vacation, so I picked and dried several pounds to make September’s lemon blueberry sourdough back in Texas. My menu always includes two staples—the original sourdough boule and the browned butter sourdough chocolate chip cookies. In winter, the chocolate peppermint bark cookies are a big time favorite. I also make my grandmother’s English toffee, a family tradition my dad has carried on every winter I can remember.”
SL: Which item is your favorite to make? “Bread. It is the hardest, as it takes the most practice to master, but it will always reward you. I am a believer in Masaru Emoto’s theory of speaking positivity to water changes its crystallization when frozen. Water shown encouragement and gratitude freezes into complex crystallization, according to Emoto, while water shown the opposite or none at all, does not form such unique and beautiful structures. In that way, I like to pour love and positivity into my starter and everything I bake. I absolutely see the positive impact of laudatory energy into my food.”
If you’d like to experience some of Kindred Knead’s good vibes for yourself, you can find Emily on Instagram and you can order from her via Hotplate. Once you sign up for alerts, you’ll receive a text every time there is a new menu drop. You “knead” to taste it for yourself!
