On February 5, 2025, the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce hosted The Buenas Tardes Luncheon: State of Hospitality & Tourism at the Mission Event Center, bringing together industry leaders to discuss the latest developments and future opportunities in hospitality and tourism in the Rio Grande Valley. The panel featured Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of Texas Economic Development and Tourism; A.J. Singh, UTRGV Founding Professor of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program; and Teclo Garcia, CEO of Mission EDC. Oceangate Hospitality provided updates on hotel developments.
