Plant Plant Plant
Our local and global animals need plants for survival. You could plant at home, on a local property with permission, or at a neighboring school or workplace.
Our native trees are beautiful and provide food, nesting sites, and shade! They are the most natural solution to addressing the heat stress in our cities. Research has shown that temperatures in the summertime can be 20 degrees cooler in forested areas versus on streets and pavement. More than half the world’s population now lives in cities; by 2050, almost 70 percent will be urbanized. Cities that plant trees will be more resilient, healthy, and livable. We can enhance our lives and the lives of wildlife around us in a simple way—JUST PLANT MORE TREES!
Now, one more resolution: we recommend you follow Quinta Mazatlan on social media for announcements on Stewardship Opportunities, Thursday Night Speakers, Gardening/Birding Workshops, Saturday STEM Stops for Kids, Native Plants Sales, Yoga & Tai Chi Classes, Rare Bird Sightings & More. Quinta Mazatlan is a mansion with a mission to restore one native backyard at a time. We wish you a happy and healthy New Year!
