WOMEN TOGETHER | MUJERES UNIDAS
Women Together is a non-profit organization established in 1978 to provide a safe-haven to victims of family violence and their children. Since 1978, the agency has evolved and provides an array of services that include rape crisis intervention, counseling, legal advocacy, community education, and the Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program. Volunteers are utilized in all facets of the organization.
Domestic violence can be defined as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. It can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, religion or gender. It can happen to couples who are married, living together or who are dating. It affects people of all socioeconomic backgrounds and education levels.
The mission of the organization is to provide shelter and support services to victims of domestic violence and survivors of sexual assault and their families and to provide community education, awareness and prevention programs to communities we serve, with the mission of ending violence so that individuals may live without fear, abuse or oppression.
