he Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Soccer National Championship will be hosted by Langara College later this year. The Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) institution will host the event in Langley, BC, from Nov. 9-12, 2022. “Langara will once again be partnering with the Langley Events Centre (LEC) to provide a first-class experience for the studentathletes, team personnel, fans and officials,” said Jake McCallum, Tournament Chair and Director, Athletics & Intramurals at Langara College, which is located in Vancouver. “We look forward to welcoming the country to the West Coast for an experience that is second to none.”

All matches at the LEC will take place at the Willoughby Community Park’s Norwest Premier Field, which offers Polytan Ligaturf RS+ field – the same product which is used in B.C. Place, home of the Vancouver Whitecaps of the Major League Soccer. The tournament will feature eight teams from across Canada: conference champions from the PACWEST, Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC), Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) and Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) as well as a wildcard team and the host Falcons. The PACWEST has medalled at 12 of the last 13 CCAA Men’s Soccer Championships. “PACWEST teams are always highly competitive within their own conference, and this has proven valuable in preparing them to contend at CCAA Championships,” said David Munro, CCAA Men’s Soccer Convenor. “This trend should continue as the conference champion from BC and host team will be in a familiar setting and have local fans cheering them on.” Langara, which has proudly earned 25 CCAA and 172 PACWEST titles, has earned four CCAA Championship crowns in Men’s Soccer (2000, 1999, 1993, 1992). The Falcons, who last hosted the 2019 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship, have welcomed the top teams in CCAA Men’s Soccer on three other occasions (2006, 2005, 2000). Langara is also known as snəweyəɬ leləm, a name given to it by the Musqueam people on whose traditional territory the College is located.

The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Soccer National Championship will be hosted by St. Clair College in 2023. The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) institution will host the event in Windsor, ON, from Nov. 8-11, 2023. “Our host committee is excited to be a part of this celebrated tradition of hosting student-athletes at their highest level of competition,” said Christina Gatto, Director, Athletics and Recreational Services at St. Clair. “We are dedicated to making it the very best CCAA Championship the community has seen to date.” All matches will take place at the newly built Acumen Stadium, a $26 million facility which opened in 2021. A unique feature to the new facility is a million-dollar professional digital scoreboard. The tournament will feature eight teams from across Canada: conference champions from the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST), Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC), OCAA, Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) and Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) as well as a wildcard team and the host Saints. “St. Clair College has hosted multiple OCAA and CCAA championships in recent years, including the highly successful 2021 CCAA Golf National Championships, so the host committee is well prepared and excited to welcome the best collegiate Men’s Soccer teams in 2023,” said David Munro, CCAA Men’s Soccer Convenor. “With a new state-of-the-art facility that will enable players and teams to perform at their highest level, this will be a must-see CCAA Championship.” In addition to hosting CCAA Golf in 2021, the Saints hosted the 2016 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship. While St. Clair is still searching for its first ever CCAA medal in Men’s Soccer, the OCAA as a conference has claimed eight of the last nine CCAA crowns in the sport. St. Clair College acknowledges that it sits on the three fires confederacy’s traditional territory of the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi nations.

Champlain College Saint-Lambert will host the 2022 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Soccer National Championship. The Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) institution will host the event Nov. 9-12, 2022, in Saint-Lambert, QC. Vince Amato, Athletic Director at Champlain Saint-Lambert, will be the Tournament Chair. “We are looking forward to hosting the best student-athletes from across the country and putting on a great event that will provide them with a memorable experience – on and off the field,” said Amato. “We look forward to hosting our first CCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship.” CCAA Championship matches will take place on Seaway Park 3, a field located directly next to the college. The artificial turf field, constructed in 2012, is FIFA certified. The eight-team tournament will feature conference champions from the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST), Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC), Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), RSEQ and Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA). The Cavaliers, who automatically qualify as hosts, and a wildcard team from OCAA, will round out the field. The Cavaliers have built their Women’s Soccer program into one of the top college programs in Quebec. They’ve also had success at recent CCAA Championships, taking home bronze in 2019, gold in 2018 and silver in 2017. “Saint-Lambert has a long history of hosting superior events and visiting student-athletes, coaches and spectators will be in for an amazing and exciting CCAA Championship,” said Marlene Ford, CCAA Women’s Soccer Convenor. “The Cavaliers Women’s Soccer program has been very successful in recent seasons, and they will now have the opportunity to showcase their talents on their home field in front of friends, family, and the community.” The Cavaliers last hosted a CCAA Championship in 2015 (Men’s Soccer). Prior to that, they hosted CCAA Men’s Basketball (2008), CCAA Cross-Country Running (2012) and CCAA Women’s Basketball (2014). “While each event has been different, one common thread is the great involvement and cooperation that we’ve had with the students, staff and faculty when hosting,” said Amato, who also serves as CCAA President. “These opportunities have been amazing as they give our students the chance to experience a championship and allow them to put into practice theories that they’ve learned in the classroom.”
