in search of an opening act In a new comedy competition series, a celebrity comic is on a mission to ind their next opening act. Over the course of six hour-long episodes, eight up-and-coming stand-ups are put through the wringer in the ultimate road test — a highintensity tour spanning six cities.

The catch? They’re competing to keep their name on this lineup. A strong set guarantees a seat on the bus headed to the next city. But if they bomb? They get left behind, watching as the other comedians ride o into the sunset.

Each episode, they’ll wake up in a new city and compete for laughs on the Main Stage. In addition to needing killer oneliners and punchlines, the comedians must be able to navigate various cultures, opinions, and demographics. As they travel from city to city, they’ll be challenged to tap into what connects us all as humans. While staying true to who they are, can they make any crowd laugh?

Shot in a documentary style, we’ll capture the highs and lows of being a working comic on the road. From earning a standing ovation to rebounding o a bad set to blowing o steam, the series gives viewers an un iltered look at what it takes to make it to the stage and stay there.

In the end, the winning stand-up walks away with a coveted gig as an opening act for our celebrity comic, invaluable mentorship, and the tour bus!

Who will come out on top and win GET ON THE BUS?

episode breakdown THE SETUP Once the contestants have arrived in a new city, our celebrity comic turned host reveals the venue for the night.

From a dive bar to a company retreat to a local festival, we want to see if they can make anyone laugh, in any room, at any time. The host also introduces the rules of The Main Stage. #1 - They must add or tailor a joke to their current city. #2 - Whether they can’t curse, can only do crowd work, or must perform one impression, this is a wild card rule that changes every city to keep the comics on their toes!

THE VIBE CHECK Then, the stand-ups have a few hours to explore the city, get to know the locals, and prepare for their set. Based on the venue and the audience, do they need to make any adjustments to their routine? Do they want to test out any new material? Or did a bit from the last performance need to be reworked? Their life on the tour depends on these jokes!

THE MAIN STAGE It’s showtime! Each comic has just a few minutes to make the audience laugh and impress our judging panel: our celebrity host, a resident judge who is an established comic, and a guest judge with ties to the local scene. They’ll critique the contestants based on: the content of their set, stage presence, and the audience’s reaction. Who succeeds with a tight set? And who fails to win over the room?

The stand-up with the worst performance loses their seat on the bus and the chance to continue on tour.
