As the digital transformation of healthcare accelerates, SNOMED International’s 20252030 strategy is poised to address emerging challenges and opportunities so that SNOMED CT remains a mainstay for enabling high-quality, data-driven healthcare in an increasingly interconnected and diverse global healthcare ecosystem.
The strategy emphasizes content, scalability, accessibility, and innovation. It seeks new ways to extend the reach of SNOMED CT, ensuring that digitally maturing healthcare systems can benefit from its capabilities. In addition, the strategy underscores the importance of international collaboration, fostering partnerships to ensure that the terminology evolves and unites the needs of its partners and diverse communities.
The 2025-2030 SNOMED International strategy aims to empower healthcare providers and organizations worldwide and envisions a future where healthcare professionals can access precise, actionable information, safely. Ultimately, this strategic evolution aims to enhance patient care, streamline operations, and provide a robust foundation for health system transformation globally.
