MY STORY....

Since the begining I have always prioritized my studies and my work. I was competive like a caterpillar keen to knit its cocoon , I was focused to always stand st on the dias until I didn’t know whats next.

As a kid I always loved to draw, to draw humans, objects, the living and the dead and yes thats how I ended up doing architecture , always wished to have a better origin story but this is how things went for me. If I tell you I loved it, it would be a big lie and also something I shouldn’t be writing here but I am also a true author by heart.

Architecture has shown be the other side of a student’s life the struggles, the failures , but eventually I started embracing it, and all of it became a part of me. It turned me into a learner rather than a winner or a well doing student , it made me an observer, an admirer and a writer.

To me a true artist is the one who is in love with its art rather than just a master of it as it just comes with time like a blessing and in my journey I have started loving this eld, I am eager to learn have new experiences and ready to work hard for it.

Architecture has shown me the true sense of life, to sit, to observe, to learn and if necessary relearn and if failed start again.

The world has changed from the rise of

Industrialization to the Age of Modernism, but

FeW Things NeVer ChAnge .

These endless oor plans with clustered work spaces and no space feels like people caged into there workspace boxes with no access to the outside world and

Like Paid labourers stuck at one place throughout the day and the most part of their lives.

Ofces doesnt remain as workplace anymore in todays world they become there employees 2nd home as they spend most of the time in these large boxy rooms and cubicles.

ARCHITECTURE, HEALTH AND USERS

With rise of remote and hybrid work models, breakout spaces can also serve as hubs for in-person collaboration with team members are co-located, fostering a sense of connection and collaboration that may be lacking in purely virtual environments.

They are typically designed to be inviting and comfortable, and are a departure from traditional cubicles or formal meeting rooms, offering employees a change of scenery and function within the workplace. It creates an environment that encourages people to step away from their desks and engage in a different kind of work or i n t e r a c t i o n strengthening the team bonds and collaborate in a casual setting.

LANDSCAPE CONCEPT

As one enters the building , it walks through the path guided by the bamboo plants hiding the private spots of the employees and slowly revealing and giving a glimpse of it as one keeps walking. There are two entrys into the site one for the pedestrian walking through the forest trail and another for users coming from the parking spot walking through a huge canopy with glimpse of the water body before entering the reception lobby.

FACADE DETAILS

Creating a double envelop instead of direct exposure to the walls heating up the building for daylight.

Allowing winds to pass into the corridors but restricting water during heavy rainfall.

Using the south facade for capturing energy by adding solar panels.

Restricting monsoon winds as temperature drops upto -5 degree celcius.

This Facade is on the south-west side on the toilet duct.

This side is exposed to the sun without any obstruction.

This facade is in the naturally ventiated zones used as breakout spaces and is of jali causing venturi effect.

This facade is used in south-west direction to reduce the direct t h e r m a i n t a k e between the ODC and the respect ve surface, breakout spaces are given in these areas.

To reduce the direct thermal intake, breakout spaces are given in these areas with a green layer to absorb the heat used in the south-east side of the building.

HOLIDAY HOME

Dekho maine dekha hai ek sapna, foolo ke sheher mai ho ghar apna......

NIWAS

NIWAS a holiday home designed for a family of three in Borgaon in a 510m2 area plot. The family wanted to have a traditional Maharashtrian home with an extended backyard. The site looks out at the mountain ranges from its balcony framing the views. With a combination of laterite and stone walls along with kota stone oors this house tries to bring in the old memories of a village home. The house open with a verrandah which takes us to te living and dining area , the steps connects two diiferent parts of the house uniting them and creating a transition space. The northwest region with timber walls and openings connects both the exterior and interior of the home. The visual connection between the openings of the front door and the backyard door attracts the user to explore the space and the nature in which it is residing. 0

THE CLIMATE CRISIS OF MUMBAI

INCREASING TEMPERATURE FLOODING HEAT ISLAND EFFECT

Over the years, Mumbai has seen longer summers and smaller winters. This is not a consequence of the urban heat island effect alone, but also climate change.

“Mumbai will record a moderate warming of 0.2°C to 0.8°C in the summer maximum temperature and 0.1°C to 0.6°C in the winter minimum temperature during the 2030s (2021-2050).”
