March 30, 2019 Dear Friends, Welcome to London Calling – our 28th annual Lion’s Mane Event celebrating our Notre Dame Schools! This past fall 2018, Notre DameCathedral Latin was honored as a National Blue Ribbon School. In 2014, Notre Dame Elementary School was also recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. Tonight, with fanfare of blue, red, and white, we raise our glasses and our auction paddles on behalf of furthering our schools’ vision to “transform the world by consciously doing good and bringing hope to the hearts of all.”

Tonight – the fabulous auction packages, outstanding décor and wonderful entertainment – is the culmination of many months of planning, coupled with an abundance of talent and energy by our co-chairs, Paula Steven and Lisa Callahan; our acquisition chair, Jackie Dottore; our auction basket team, Mary Jo Burwinkel and Renee Salem; the keen management of our Special Event Coordinator, Lisa Breier; and many volunteers who shared the vision for tonight’s event! We all hope you enjoy every minute!

Of course, we gather together on behalf of the young women and men whom we love. May you be inspired by the many students who are present tonight…serving us, selling tickets, cheering and singing. In each of these students the mission of NDCL and NDES thrives. They are at the heart of this evening and everything we do on this campus.

Payment Procedures Both live and silent winning bid sheets are filed by paddle number in the check-out area. All sales are final; payment in full is required the evening of the auction.

An “Express Pay” option is available to all guests upon registration.

At that time, your credit card information will be taken. All purchases of games, raffles and auction items will be charged to your paddle number and you will be asked to initial the charge slip. At the close of the evening, you need only to pick-up your paid receipt at the check-out desk.

If you have not chosen “Express Pay,” payment can be made by cash, check (payable to NDCL), or by credit card (American Express, MasterCard, or Visa).

Payment receipts will be issued. Item(s) will be released to each purchaser upon presentation of a “PAID” receipt(s) at the distribution area.

Live Auction Rules 1. The auction will be conducted by professional auctioneer, Scott Mihalic, and will continue without interruption until all items have been auctioned.

2. USE ONLY THE PADDLE NUMBER ASSIGNED TO YOU (FOUND ON THE INSIDE FRONT COVER OF YOUR AUCTION PROGRAM).

3. Cashiers will be available at 10:00 pm for payment at the end of the auction when all items may be paid for at one time. Payment may be made with cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. Checks should be made payable to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School.

4. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. There will be no exchanges or refunds on items by the donors or this institution unless donor is unable to fulfill obligation as described. Please do not ask the donors for exchanges or refunds!

5. The high bidder will be acknowledged by the auctioneer. If the committee determines that an opening bid or any subsequent bid is not commensurate with the value of the item offered, he may reject the same and withdraw the item from sale; and if, having acknowledged an opening bid, he decides that an advance thereafter is not of sufficient amount, he may reject the advance. The auctioneer retains the right to announce conditions of sale at any time. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer will have sole and final discretion in these matters.

NDES Art Projects 600 Preschool - Colorful Thumbprint Serving Platter Every NDES preschool child is represented.  The many colorful thumbprints are captured in time on this one-of-a-kind ceramic serving platter. They grow up so fast!

601 Kindergarten - Thumb Print City Scape NDES Kindergarten students used their thumbprint to fill in the skyline on canvas. 10" x 20" 602 1st Grade - Clay Medallions Footprints NDES 1st Grade students used their gym shoe to press into clay. After, the medallions are dusted with metallic powder to give the look of metal. They are organized in a framed art piece.

603 2nd Grade - Copper Cross Mirror - Miss Amantea Each NDES student in Miss Amantea's class designed a cross, which they transferred to a copper square. The copper is then antiqued with a special solution and then placed on a wood frame that has a mirror in the middle.

605 3rd Grade - Marbled Paper NDES third grade students took a field trip to the Morgan Conservatory where they learned marbling and to make their own paper from cotton pulp. These papers were then torn into a variety of sizes by the students. Each paper circle is from one of the pieces the students made on that field trip.

606 4th Grade - Glass Fused Platter All NDES 4th grade students selected pieces of multi-colored glass that they arranged onto a rectangular piece of glass that got fused together in the kiln to create this one-of-akind, colorful platter. Each student has their name engraved on the back. Proudly use it at your next family gathering.

607 5th Grade - Design over Print NDES 5th grade students chose a word that described themselves, such as artistic, funny, etc., and that word was typed repeatedly on cardstock. Using the cardstock, students put a design over their word and cut out the shape to fit into this collage piece.

608 6th Grade - Stamp Print Making NDES 6th grade students designed their own stamp which they cut themselves. The stamps were then inked onto one piece of paper.

609 7th Grade - West Side Market Photography During a field trip to the West Side Market, the NDES 7th grade students took various photographs. The favorite photographs from all of the 7th grade students were then framed altogether to make a beautiful full colored photo collage.

610 8th Grade - Mosaic Cross NDES 8th grade students all chose glass pieces to glue onto a large cross base. After, the cross was grouted to create a unique and colorful cross.
