Fire Restrictions in Effect at GLCA GLEN CANYON NRA - As of June 24, 2024, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is implementing fire restrictions that will remain in effect until further notice. Due to hot, dry conditions and increasing fire danger, the following is prohibited in all lands within the boundaries of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Rainbow Bridge National Monument: • Setting, building, maintaining, attending or using open fire of any kind, except campfires and charcoal fires within agency approved fire pits and grills in developed recreation sites and picnic areas or under permanently improved places of habitation. Thank you to Mickey Wright, Tyler Ward, Gary Pankow, Athens Boyle, Paul Smith, Mary Bedingfieldsmith, Scott Smith, and Susan O’ConnorWright for sharing telescopes and their time and star knowledge with eager night sky participants.
