All Flying and Fun at the Panguitch Valley Balloon Rally PANGUITCH - Friday morning of the Panguitch Valley Balloon Rally was a beautiful, still beginning for the festival. Almost 30 Balloons and their crews got ready and launched around 6:30 am. The ubiquitous Deanna Moore, Balloon Festival Director, did such a wonderful job and was seemingly unflappable as the questions and problems rolled in and were handled without her batting an eye. Panguitch has a treasure with both this gorgeous festival and in the volunteers and crews that pull it all together under her watchful eye. The balloons were launched by the ballfields, and for the next hour and a half they wafted over the valley as the sun rose, lighting up the farms and fields. The rest of the day was filled with various activities throughout town. Every store was open with a sale going on and the vendor street was back-to-back with canopied stalls with vendors from all over the country. Panguitch also brought out the big guns with lots of games and rides for kids. Every single volunteer was cheerful, informative and kind. Nice work Panguitch Main Street! —Kandee DeGraw
