Calligraphy Contest

INTERVIEW WITH CARSON BOSITA ON THE CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION Interviewer: Why did you choose to go to the contest?

Carson: I thought it would be fun to learn the strokes, and I also like creating art.

Interviewer: How did you feel at the calligraphy competition?

Carson: I felt nervous, but I relaxed when I was a little bit into the competition.

Interviewer: How well did you do?

Carson: I feel like I tried my best, and I also thought that it looked good.

Interviewer: Was it a very competitive contest?

Carson: The contest felt like a leisurely contest, but I still think that it was pretty tense.

Interviewer: When will the results come out?

Carson: The results will be coming out in November, but the awards will be out in December.

Sports Lions Exterminate Hornets in a 39-0 Game Friday night lights had our St. Mark’s Lions looking for a win against the Greenhill Hornets. The Lions fought hard, and they beat the Hornets. The Lions scored thirty-nine points.

Our defense was unstoppable, and we held Greenhill to a total of zero points. The Lions’ dominant roar silenced the cheers of the Hornets, who were celebrating their Homecoming. Our team was like an exterminator knocking down a nest of Hornets. This victory turned the Lions’ record to 2-3. In their division, the standings are now Episcopal with a record of 4-0-1, Kinkaid 3-0-1, St. John’s 4-1, The Episcopal School of Dallas 2-2, St. Marks 2-3, Houston Cristian 1-4, and finally Greenhill, who is 0-6. The Lion’s next football game will be in our den versus the ESD Eagles. The Lions are looking to improve their record to 3-3, with a win average of .500.

Fiction Stories Frozen in a Jungle It seemed as though time stood still. The wind had stopped and the animals were few and far between. I realized this godforsaken jungle would be the end of me. My near lifeless body was numb and motionless. I’m imprisoned in my own, miserable thoughts, thinking, “Why? Why me?” I was going insane. If I could have moved, I could have gotten help, but the venom was just too strong. I could feel my life slipping away. When the snake’s venom entered my body, I felt it draining me, taking first my energy, then my feeling, and finally, little by little, my ability to move. All hope inside me had left, and now I awaited my inevitable fate. I eventually arrived in a state of peace as my soul ascended from my body.
