Take a trip to the place where the Christkindl lives! The bus takes you from linz to the famous Christkindl region, which becomes the centre of Christmas events every year. Here, ancient customs come alive again. The church in the Christkindl pilgrimage site today stands on the spot where once the seriously ill bandmaster Ferdinand sertl placed a small baby Jesus made of wax in the hollow of a spruce tree and prayed again and again until he was finally healed. From the Christkindl post office, you can send Christmas greetings to your loved ones back home before continuing on to one of Austria’s oldest cities. Customs and traditions are always rediscovered here. Take a walk and immerse yourself in the romantic atmosphere of the Christkindlstadt steyr. In the 1st Austrian Christmas museum for historical Christmas tree decorations, more than 14000 specimens as well as 200 parlour dolls are waiting for you.
