Upon arrival at 0755hrs, your private coach will pick you up to start your holiday with a free excursion to Zagreb, Croatia’s capital city. Walk through the upper town and the historical centre of the city, and enjoy spectacular views in this charming city. Zagreb’s old town is a true feast for your senses, where you can sample some of the country’s most renowned restaurants and coffee shops in the midst of classics façades, lush gardens and striking Neo-Gothic buildings.

The City tour will end at the 4* Panorama Hotel, close to the popular Dom Sportova Sports Arena, for check in and room allocation. The afternoon is free for personal relaxation. One may also visit the traditional Christmas fair which takes place in the streets surrounding the Jelacic Square. In the evening, one may opt to join the group for dinner (optional) at the hotel, before overnight.

Saturday 30th December: Today, after breakfast, we encourage you, to join the tour leader and our very own English speaking guide for a full day excursion to the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital city. The aroma of roasted chestnut, mulled wine and festive pastries fills the air, in the compact historic city centre, which is easy to explore on foot. The Christmas market, which can be found alongside the Ljubjanica River, is adorned by a tall Christmas tree and a range of market traders selling authentic crafts. Together with the tour leader you will also have the chance to access the Ljubljana castle through the world famous funicular (return ticket included). Return back to the hotel, in time for dinner (optional) and overnight.

Sunday 31st December: Today, after breakfast, we offer you a marvellous excursion to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the system of lakes carved into travertine marble,

are such an extraordinary natural phenomenon, that it comes as no surprise that they are the most visited national park in Croatia. (National Park Entrance + Visiting Tax included). You will also have the opportunity to visit the small village of Ratoke, together with your tour leader and English speaking guide where tiny lakes and cascades tell the story of the true beauty of nature. Return to your hotel, early in the evening, to prepare for the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner (optional) and overnight Monday 1st January: Happy New Year! While hoping that you have enjoyed last night end of year celebrations, we are leaving the morning free so that you can rest and relax. In the afternoon we are offering you a relaxing 3-hour panoramic drive to admire the beautiful scenery of the surroundings.

Tuesday 2nd January: Today, after breakfast, and check out (luggage room will be made available) we offer you yet another excursion together with your tour leader. On the last day of this holiday you shall visit one of the best preserved castles in Croatia, located above a lake surrounded by beautiful natural environment: Trakoscan Castle (entrance included).

After the visit of the visit of such elegant castle, you shall continue your way to the town of Varazdin.

Its centre Is a showcase of scrupulously restored baroque architecture and well-tended gardens and parks. It was once Croatia’s capital and its most prosperous city, which explains the extraordinary refinement of its buildings. During your free time you can wonder the streets, do some last minute shopping or take a bite of delicious food. In the late afternoon, you shall make your way back to Zagreb, before heading to Zagreb’s airport for your direct flight to Malta, leaving Zagreb at 2115hrs.

excursion, this time for a most scenic excursion to Mariazell. This picturesque village is situated at the foot of the Alps in the province of Styria, is well known for the church that houses the miraculous statue of Our Lady and Child. Return to your hotel in time to prepare for the New Year’s Eve celebrations held alongside the river at Mariahilferplatz.

Monday 1st January: Happy New Year! Today, after breakfast, we encourage you, to join the tour leader for a day excursion to the city of Maribor. The second largest city and the centre of Slovenia’s wine industry, Maribor oozes charm thanks to its delightfully patchy old town along the Drava River. The pedestrianised central streets buzz with cafés some of which housed in beautiful renaissance architectural buildings. After an Introductory walk with our tour leader, one can either relax in this pleasant surroundings or head to Maribor castle (entrance extra) or visit one of the numerous places of interest within the city centre.
