SCTP NEWS There are no benchwarmers in the SCTP! January 13, 2024 was a great event in the SCTP Fun Shoot series. The 2nd Annual “Winter Warm Up Shoot” hosted by Saltwaters Top Shots at the beautiful Saltwaters Shooting Club in St. Augustine, was held on a clear to partly overcast day with temperatures starting around 64- and awards presented with a pleasant 55 degrees . These temperatures did not affect the friendly competition between the six team that participated. Amelia Claybusters, Hot Shots of South Florida, Jacksonville Clay Target Busters, Saltwaters Top Shots, BlackJack Smokin Aces, and Vero Beach Elite. Buffet style taco and burrito lunch was enjoyed by the team, parents, grand parents and friends while the scores were tabulated. Shoot offs were conducted, afterwards the teams gathered between Woolley Shooting Sports top deck and the 5 stands to cheer on the awards winners for the day.
Awards; Rookie squad medals; Hot Shots of South Fla. (Matias Campos, Austin Miller, Rachael Dennard) took 1st place. Individual Medals 1st Austin Miller Hot Shots of South Fla., 2nd Blake Paulk Jacksonville Clay Busters and 3rd Matias Campos Hot Shots of South Fla. IE Squads medals; Hot Shots of South Fla. (Alexander Batallan, Walkar Craddock, Patrick Tobin) took 1st. Vero Beach Elite (Robert Jackson, Caleb Eiswerth, Whalen Hester) took 2nd, BlackJack Smokin Aces (Carson Sumner, Eli Simmons. Mason Nancarrow) took 3rd. Individual Medals 1st Peter Colwell of Amelia Claybusters, 2nd Alexander Batallan of Hot Shots of South Fla. and 3rd Caleb Elswerth of Vero Beach Elite.

(Malakai Dennard, Tyler Elmore, Brodie Bolen) took 2nd, BlackJack Smokin Aces (Mark Plunkett, Gunner McLemore, Brantley Oaks) took 3rd. Individual Medals; 1st Vero Beach Elite-Marshall Shoeneman, 2nd Hot Shots of South Fla. Malakai Dennard and 3rd Maggie Bohne Vero Beach Elite.
Jr. Varsity medals; BlackJack Smokin Aces (Wayne Bowen, Shepard Simmons, Ryan Wedding) took 1st, Saltwaters Top Shots (Hayden Jauregui, Isla Rowell, Jackso Richards) took 2nd. . Individual Medals; 1st Levi Bartosh of Vero Beach Elite, 2nd Ryan Wedding and 3rd Wayne Bowen both of BlackJack Smokin Aces. Varsity Squad medals; Hot Shots of South Fla. (Rowan Crandall, Bryan Holtkamp, Jackson Biggs) took 1st place, BlackJack Smokin Aces taking 2nd with (Luke Teuton, John Schneider, Hayden Luffman) and 3rd with (Kyle Poole, Carson Vandeursen, William Peebles). Individual Medals 1st Rowan Crandall Hot Shots of South Fla., 2nd and 3rd tied which was decided by a great shootoff: 2nd Lance Grenevicki Jr. of
Vero Beach Elite and 3rd John Schneider of BlackJack Smokin Aces Open Squads; Vero Beach Elite (Madison Jackson, Levi Bartosch, Blake Arce) took 1st, BlackJack Smokin Aces (Evan Peebles, Kayman Poole, Clay Dees) took 2nd and Saltwaters Top Shots (William Adkins, Parker Scarborough, Rylan Palmer) taking 3rd. Sharing the stage for the Winter Warm-Up High Overall was Rowan Crandall of Hot Shots of South Fla. along with Maggie Bohne of Vero Beach Elite. Coach Jamie Rowell, his coaching staff, their spouses and volunteers out performed last years event and are already planning for 2025. On behalf of the Seventy-two athletes that competed, from six teams with over two hundred spectators in the form of coaches, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and friends we thank each of them, Saltwaters Shooting Club and Wooley Shooting Sports for their hospitality and a wonderful event. From the Editor I want to thank Kellie Jauregui and Lisa Rowell for the great pictures from the Winter Warm Up SCTP Shoot at Saltwater’s Shooting Club Saturday, January 13th. Just what I wanted for the newsletter. I invite everyone to send me photos of their shooters attending practices or shoots. I will try to post as many as I can each month. If you want to post your clubs schedule in the newsletter just send me a copy of it and I will post it each month. Look forward to more pictures and other posts next month. Registration Opens- 12/31/2023 12:00 PM - 01/28/2024 12:00 PM
Teams can register for any day and shoot on any day during the competition window 2/4/24 - 3/2/24. You do not need to sign up for the day you are shooting for virtuals only. Scoring information and file will be sent out to teams after registration closes and the match must be scored in Practiscore.
This is all the information I have on this event. If someone gets more information on it please let me know.

If any teams ever want to come to Tampa Bay Sporting Clays and shoot the international bunker with the Tampa Bay Clays we would welcome that. We hold practices on Sundays from 11AM to 2PM. We will be glad to assist in coaching the shooters on how to shoot the international bunker as well. All we ask is that you please let us know in advance that you are coming as we wouldn’t want you to show up and nobody be there.
