CORNERSTONE PARTNER CORNERSTONE PARTNER SPOTLIGHT SPOTLIGHT

Strong communities are built by people and organizations that choose to invest in them—not just once, but year after year. This month, the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize First National Bank of Bastrop as one of our valued Cornerstone Partners. First National Bank of Bastrop has long been a familiar and trusted presence in our area, supporting the individuals, businesses, and organizations that make our communities stronger. For Smithville, that commitment has included years of support for the Chamber and the work we do to promote local businesses, strengthen connections, and create opportunities for our community. That kind of partnership matters. As a Cornerstone Partner, First National Bank of Bastrop helps the Chamber continue programs, events, and initiatives that bring people together and support a healthy local business community. Their involvement reflects something we value greatly at the Chamber: businesses that understand that investing in a community goes well beyond the services they provide. First National Bank of Bastrop also understands the importance of local businesses. From providing

everyday banking services to helping entrepreneurs and established businesses explore financing and Small Business Administration lending options, the bank works with customers at many different stages of business and life. But what makes a community bank an important part of a community isn't simply what happens inside the bank. It's showing up. It's building relationships. It's supporting local organizations and being part of the communities its customers call home. We are grateful for the many years First National Bank of Bastrop has supported Smithville and the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce, and we appreciate their continued commitment as a Cornerstone Partner. Partnerships like these help us do more for our members—and for Smithville. Thank you, First National Bank of Bastrop, for continuing to invest in our Chamber and our community. Getting to Know Our Board Members Cinda Wilkey This month, we’re pleased to introduce Cinda Wilkey, a member of the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors whose professional career has been built around helping organizations work better—and helping the people within them succeed.

Cinda spent more than 20 years working with school districts, beginning her career on the district side as a Business Manager. That firsthand experience gave her a deep understanding of the challenges school districts face, from managing finances and human resources to balancing deadlines, compliance requirements, and everyday operations. She later brought that experience to the Washington School Information Processing Cooperative (WSIPC), where she helped school districts improve the finance and HR systems they depend on. With WSIPC serving more than 280 districts across Washington, Cinda took particular pride in guiding districts through change, solving problems, and helping ensure technology made people's jobs easier rather than more complicated.

made our community home. They have three children and four grandchildren. And there's another side to Cinda that might surprise you. For many years, she and her husband were heavily involved in ballroom dancing, taking their talents all the way to Blackpool, England, where they competed six times—an experience Cinda describes as amazing. From school finance and technology to ballroom dancing on an international stage, Cinda brings a unique combination of experience, problemsolving, and perspective to our Chamber Board. We’re grateful to have Cinda Wilkey serving the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce and helping us continue building a strong, connected business community.

Cinda and her husband traded Seattle for Smithville just over seven years ago and have

September Chamber Mixer Brings Community Together Our September Chamber Mixer was a wonderful evening of conversation, connections, and community, hosted by The Bluebonnet Room and Main Street Gifts & More. Chamber Mixers give our members a chance to step away from the workday, catch up with familiar faces, meet someone new, and strengthen the relationships that make Smithville’s business community special. A big thank you to The Bluebonnet Room and Main Street Gifts & More for welcoming our Chamber members and making the evening such an enjoyable one. We appreciate our local businesses that open their doors and help create opportunities for our members to connect. Thank you to everyone who joined us—we loved seeing you there!

Celebrating Film Alley Bastrop The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce was pleased to join our friends and Chamber partners from Bastrop and Elgin for the ribbon cutting celebration at Schulman Theatres – Film Alley Bastrop in September. It was a fantastic turnout and a great opportunity to celebrate Film Alley and the continued investment in businesses and entertainment opportunities throughout our area. Chamber representatives, community leaders, business owners, and guests came together to mark the occasion and welcome this exciting addition to the region. Events like this are also a wonderful reminder of the value of collaboration between our neighboring communities. By showing up for one another, sharing connections, and celebrating local and regional businesses, our Chambers help strengthen the entire area. The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce is always proud to support our Chamber partners in Bastrop and Elgin while representing and building connections for the Smithville business community. Congratulations to the entire Film Alley Bastrop team on a wonderful celebration!
