Growing Together: Celebrating Community, Connection, and What’s Next

As April comes to a close, I’m reflecting on what a wonderful month it has been for our Smithville community. We’ve had a chance to come together in so many meaningful ways, and I’m grateful to everyone who helped make April such a success.

From our Lunch & Learns to the Community-Wide Garage Sale, we kicked off spring with energy and enthusiasm. We also had the privilege of hosting the 2025 Candidate Forum, a chance for civic engagement, and our Spring Quarterly Luncheon with T.J. Greaney, founder of Kids Outdoor Zone (KOZ), who shared inspiring thoughts on youth development. The April Mixer brought great connections, and the Smithville Jamboree reminded us all of the fun and energy of our cherished traditions.

As we look ahead to May, we’re excited for more opportunities to connect and grow. The month kicks off with First Thursday on Main Street and the first Music in the Park, where you can enjoy live music, local shopping, and a bit of that special small-town charm. Don’t miss these free, family-friendly evenings every Thursday at the Gazebo.

We’re also looking forward to supporting key community events like Get Down and Give Tonight!, the Family Crisis Center’s 32nd Annual Dinner & Dance, and the 16th Annual Kids Outdoor Zone Remedy Gala?all of which support important local causes. Aviation enthusiasts, be sure to mark your calendars for the 19th Annual Fly-In, where we celebrate aviation and community. This month’s Chamber Luncheon will honor our First Responders?an opportunity to recognize the courageous individuals who serve and protect our community. We’ll also come together later in the month for the B.E.S.T. County-Wide Mixer, the Chamber May Mixer hosted by VFW Post 1309, and the Quad County Skilled Trades Coalition Meeting, all continuing our focus on collaboration and economic growth.

For those who enjoy the arts, there’s plenty to explore, from Main Gallery Presents: GRAIN by Joëlle Andrew, to LPAA Sip & Paint, LPAA Art Classes, and the Smithville Farmer’s Market every Sunday, offering fresh local goods and a great start to the week.

It’s a great time to be part of the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce, and we are so thankful for your continued support. Whether you’re attending your first event or your fiftieth, we’re excited to see you join us and make this May a month to remember.

With gratitude and excitement, Caroline Noya Board President Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce
