Question: To whom does the Lord give his Spirit as a pledge?
Answer: Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father
Question: To what time will the sons of God look with interest?
Answer: 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is
Question: What is said of their life?
Answer: Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God
Question: In Christ what do they have?
Answer: 1 John 5:11, 12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Question: How do we have Christ?
Answer: Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love
Question: How does faith come?
Answer: Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
Question: Then how do we know that we have the pledge or earnest of the Spirit?
Answer: We have Christ in the heart by faith, and faith cometh by the word of God. Therefore we can only know that we are Christ's by this word that abideth in us. John 15:7; Galatians 5:22, 23; Romans 8:16
Question: What is said of the words of Christ?
Answer: John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life
Question: What power has the Spirit that is given to the believers?
Answer: Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you
Question: What is it that brings the dead forth?
Answer: John 5:28, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Question: To what time do those who have the earnest look?
Answer: Romans 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body
Question: When will the body be redeemed?
Answer: 1 Corinthiens15:22, 23, 51-53 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
Question: At that time what change will the body undergo?
Answer: Philippians 3:20, 21 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Question: Then what Bible subject ought to be of great interest to every child of faith?
Answer: The coming of the Lord
Question: What will the scriptures on this subject be to the believer?
Answer: The Saviour said unto his disciples: "The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life." This is true of all the words he spake, and therefore true of those words he spake concerning his second coming
Question: Then what should we do?
Answer: John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me
