Question: In whom do we have redemption?
Answer: Romans 3:24 (KJV) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus
Question: What is the significance of the term?
Answer: The act of freeing or releasing. Deliverance for one from guilt and punishment of sin. Deliverance of the soul from sin, and the body from the grave.
Question: What did man lose by the fall?
Answer: Romans 5:12; Genesis 2:17 (KJV) 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Question: When man was created, what was given to him?
Answer: Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Question: To whom did he surrender this dominion?
Answer: Luke 4:6 (KJV) 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
Question: Then what needs to be done that man may be brought back to God's original plan?
Answer: To be placed in his original position before his Creator, man must be redeemed from condemnation and death, and reinstated in his dominion.
Question: What is Christ made to believers?
Answer: 1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV) But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Question: What does Jesus say of his own existence?
Answer: Revelation 22:13 (KJV) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Question: What significance has the expression "alpha and omega"?
Answer: By his word Christ spoke the worlds into existence (Psalms 33:6-9); and by the same word he upholds them. It will be by the same word that he restores all things, thus making Him the beginning and ending of all things.
Question: What is the first step in the work of redemption?
Answer: Ephisians1:7 (KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace
Question: Through whom does the forgiveness of sins come?
Answer: Matthew 1:21; Acts 13:38 (KJV) And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
Question: When sins are pardoned, how does it affect the sinner's past life?
Answer: 1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Question: How does the Lord look upon the forgiven one ?
Answer: Romans 4:7, 8 (KJV) Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
Question: What does forgiveness or justification bring?
Answer: Romans 5:1(KJV) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Question: Why have we peace?
Answer: Romans 8:1 (KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Question: What has Christ given to everyone whom He has redeemed from sin?
Answer: 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:13 (KJV) Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye Heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise
Question: Of what is this spirit an earnest or pledge?
Answer: Ephesians 1:14 (KJV) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory
Question: To what time are believers sealed?
Answer: Ephesians 4:30 (KJV) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption
