Desiree Melancon

This goggle design was inspired through experimentation and mixed media. I’m interested in how different mediums communicate, similar to how plastic reacts on snow while going down a mountain. This goggle is a combination of illustration and analog film: a mix of something very intentional, and one happenstance.

Taking inspiration from the notebook Alek has in his everyday-carry, this design carries a sense of youthful spontaneity. Don’t get stuck in front of the T.V. - you never know what you might find when you take the long way home.

Markus Eder

Early on, I was inspired by how each goggle goes from concept to reality through a series of hand-drawn blueprints. This strap gives a nod to the engineers. I’ve been working a bunch on product development so it was natural for me to have this goggle showcase that side of my interests.

Angel Collinson

Similar to how choosing your line down the mountain is as much about feel as it is planning, I wanted this design to have a certain feeling to it. I have been interested in more mystical symbolism lately, and wanted to combine that with some really wearable earth tones.

This year we are proud to announce a collaboration with the one-and-only Aaron Draplin. Utilizing his iconic design style, Aaron helped us create two goggles that ring true to the DDC aesthetic.

He’s traveled the world telling his full-throated story, with over 400 speaking fiascoes under his belt and counting! He co-created Field Notes with his older brother Jim Coudal, and their memo books are sold in over 2,500 stores worldwide, with limited-edition special editions shipped quarterly to a booming subscriber list. His first book titled Pretty Much Everything came out on May 17, 2016 on Abrams Books, which incredibly, is in its eighth printing. His roster of DDC Merch is up to 240 products and growing! You’ll see those goodies at DDC merch tables from coast to coast or in his online shop. We teamed up with our friends in Portland Oregon at Kinco gloves to create a custom mitt and matching Maze helmet. They know, just like we do, that at the bottom of the thrill lies innovation, passion and hard work. Just like every day you’re on the mountain.

B4BC Boarding for Breast Cancer (@b4bc) – Founded in 1996, B4BC is a non-profit foundation that advocates early detection and a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means for breast cancer prevention. B4BC aims to eliminate breast cancer deaths in present and future generations by arming young people with the tools necessary to reduce their risks and lead longer, healthier lives. Smith has teamed up B4BC to help raise awareness, as well as support the foundation with proceeds from the special edition goggle.
