Smith & McLaurin manufacture products for general application areas e.g. industrial labelling, price marking, retail tags and labels. We also manufacture for many speciality applications and for customer specific requirements.

Smith & McLaurin products are manufactured to high quality standards and certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2015.

Rolls can be supplied slit to widths from 60mm to 1500mm.

Standard industry tolerance of +/- 1 mm ( except for adhesive strip coating which is +/-2mm).

Many Smith & McLaurin products can be supplied with an adhesive strip pattern manufactured to specific requirement. Detailed information and Strip Pattern Design Forms are available on request.

The minimum roll length for most products is 1000M, maximum roll length is 4000M.

All standard orders +/- 10%.

Maximum number of splices will be 1 per 1000m.

We actively seek to minimise the number of splices, and will always attempt to meet any special finishing required by our customers.

Packaging Environmental Aspects

Products are wrapped in stretch PE Film and placed on wooden pallets.

Special wrapping on request.

Smith & McLaurin are actively involved in ongoing sourcing of raw materials and manufacturing techniques that will minimise any adverse impacts to our environment. All Standard products comply with the European Directive 94/62/ EC on packaging and waste, article 11, acceptable levels of heavy metals.

Minimum Application Temperature – the recommended minimum temperature of the surface to be labelled at the time of application of the label. The surface to be labelled should be clean and dry at all times. The temperatures given are guideline only and not a warranty.

Service Temperature – the range of temperatures within which the applied adhesive should stay unchanged over a period of time.

The performance of the adhesive is heavily influenced by the duration of time, temperature extremes, the type of face material, the surface being labelled and environmental conditions. Therefore the figures given are guideline only. For example most of our adhesives will withstand higher temperatures for short periods of time, specific information is available on request.

Surface to be labelled – surfaces such as non-polar, rough, contoured, textiles, plasticized vinyls etc. require careful choice of adhesive. In these cases pre-testing is strongly recommended.
