I'm

I have a Bachelor's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, from the State University of New York, Cortland and a Trinity Certificate in the same, from SEDA Institute, Cork, Ireland.

I've tutored for several years, while I also spent over a decade in other industries I worked in organic agriculture for a while to stay close to family and then returned to the education sector as I moved to Lviv

I realized as a teenager that I was fascinated by languages, and I also realized how much I enjoyed helping other people understand something I had figured out- which is the core of being an educator.

The kids are great, the people I work with are supportive, and the materials are interesting. A lot of thought goes into the design of materials to allow kids to feel out new concepts I wish I had been able to learn math here. There are many materials that allow kids to physically manipulate them- whether it's math, science, or language arts or others

I first came to Lviv to volunteer and that remains a big use of my free time. And honestly, I actually enjoy learning new languages so I enjoy cracking open my Ukrainian books in my spare time It's not a chore- it's really something I look forward to. In the US where I'm from, I really enjoyed gardening but haven't got a garden space here yet I'm just nursing a half dozen basil plants and one sturdy kale plant on my apartment balcony in pots, along with

the “pets” - the spider plant, snake plant, and now a newly adopted fern. I also like to cook and that comes from my growing background. I like finding sources for good homegrown food here and bringing it home to experiment.
