The Mark of a Great Salesperson Follow-up – An important step in making friends with your customers is to follow-up with a phone call or email.You have information about upcoming birthdays/anniversaries, etc. so do not hesitate to contact the customer to offer them specific items (based on the occasion) as well as layaway. And it is always beneficial to just call your customers or email them frequently to say hello and thank them for recent purchases or transactions. This will build a relationship that will become worthwhile to your customer and you.

Business Cards – Business Cards – This is a very basic but important step toward making friends with customers, even if the customer does not complete a transaction. Always have your business cards at the ready and do not hesitate to give one to every customer you approach of assist with a transaction.Never be without your business cards.

Customer Information – Always engage customers in conversation so you can ask about their shopping preferences or what they might want to purchase now or later. If you are completing a transaction associated with a loan, you have a perfect opportunity to engage the customer in conversation and offer to assist them with future purchases for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, births, etc.Never hesitate to offer layaway to your loan customers and offer to bump a loan, where appropriate, if the customer would like to place something on layaway for an upcoming event (birthday/anniversary). Always record important information about your customers in your customer Lead Log.

Do not be one of those who doubts making friends and building a customer relationship is too much trouble prior to seeing the results of your efforts. It pays; just ask any of our top producing Sales and Lending Associates and you will understand the significance of your efforts.Your customer base will increase, and your earnings will increase. JEWELRY SALES TIP Never let price be the last thing you say.

Why? Because you’re selling an experience more than a product.

Jewelry is an emotional purchase usually tied to an event or occasion.

When you end on price, the customer will focus on the product and the price and will go price shopping at a competitor.

How? Say things like this: ·This engagement ring is only $499, what do you think her friends will say when they see it? ·This anniversary band is just $299 and has a 1/2ct of diamonds; what do you think about the style? ·This diamond and green stone ring is a great value at $249 and green is the color of the August birthstone, Don’t you think it will make a perfect B-day gift?!

Don’t push price – push the occasion and create a fun shopping experience!

Josue Santiago joined Simple Pawn, Poinciana in 2022 as a Sales Associate.

During our interview, Josue said the best advice he's ever received is, never ruin a good day by thinking about a bad yesterday and you should always strive to be better than you were yesterday.

Employee Engagement Equals High Performance and Growth

Think of two or three businesses that you love to visit frequently because of the outstanding service you receive from the employees of that particular business. Maybe it is the locally owned hardware store with the super friendly staff or it could be the boutique at the mall that makes you feel like a celebrity when you visit. Or, like me, Chick-fil-A comes to mind. The businesses that come to mind for you most assuredly share one common trait, they have engaged employees.

All great companies have engaged employees so it should be no surprise that at Cashwiz/Simple Pawn we are dedicated to growing our businesses based upon the firm foundation of a team of highly engaged employees.

As you all know, we are growing and looking for Acquisitions. This all cannot be done without the engagement of everyone involved. Currently, we are building stores in Jamaica, The Bahamas and looking for site real estate for another store in Cayman. We are also looking to put our first store in St. Martin. We have a multiple-store organic growth plan over the next 2 years and are constantly looking for opportunities. But all this is not possible without great teams, green and clean stores, and the development of future leaders through. As John Thedford has often noted, there are no unimportant jobs in our company.
