REMEMBER Those who don’t read are as handicapped as those who can’t read. Think about that. The Holy Bible is a book of letters, and it is a treasure map to a better life.

HEBREWS 13:8

MY MESSAGE TO YOU STARTS HERE. READ THE NEXT TEN PAGES.

Why Letters Are So Important The entire Holy Bible is from or about letters. Here is just one example on the power in writing letters of prayers. Here is what the Holy Scriptures teach us. The Bible says, “And Hezekiah received the L-E-T-T-E-R from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah Lord, and

went up to the house of the spread it before the Lord.” II Kings 19:14 The Bible tells us, “He sent His word and healed them…” Psalm 107:20 Continued on next page

The Holy Scriptures go on and on, teaching us about letters. The Apostle Paul’s letters are very important in the scriptures. I know the importance of letters from experience, because the first time I wrote a letter to a church was in 1951. I was working for the United States government in a war plant, building airplanes. I was driving home in Fort Worth, Texas, and I heard a minister on the

radio

who

said, “Write your prayer requests to me, and I promise you that I will pray until you get your Continued on next page

answer or until you tell me to stop praying.” I pulled over to the side of the road in my wellused, old Ford car, and thank God, I found a pencil and a piece of paper. I quickly wrote down his name and mailing address because I wanted my dad to stop drinking. My mother was always crying when Dad came home drunk. So, I God, and I

wrote to that man of explained my problem about

father’s

drinking. And, boy, the letter I wrote to that minister worked! It was truly a miracle! To make a long story short, yes, my father stopped drinking, and he didn’t even know that man of God was praying for him. Continued on next page

Dad told me how he went to a tavern out on Weatherford Highway where he would meet up with his drinking buddies. He said that he had a vision of the Lord in that tavern, even before his first drink, and he left that bar and went home in Fort Worth, Texas. Then he told my mother that he would never drink again, and to my knowledge, my father stopped drinking that day. I told him how I had sat down and wrote to that man of God to pray Continued on next page

for him. Dad cried when I told him about my letter to that minister and explained my prayer needs. Now, I’m sitting in my well worn chair with only one light on. It’s 5:30 in the morning on Friday, as I write these words to you on a lined tablet with my pen in hand. I know that my associates will put these words into book form and then have them made into a book. I want you to know how I work to create these books and my sermon letters that I write to you. Continued on next page

I don’t use typewriters, which no one uses any more, and I don’t use computers. I write everything by hand. I don’t tweet or use email. Everyone else connected with Saint Matthew’s Churches uses all of these modern tools, and they’re up to date on newer technologies and ways to communicate. It is only I who still handwrites letters. I handwrite even my notes to my friends,

bishops and others. I know you might think that it’s because I’m an old, 87-year-old, church bishop, but as long as my eyes can see, and my Continued on next page

hand still works, I’ll keep handwriting these church sermon letters to people like you who want my prayers and my thoughts on God and the Holy Bible. While I’m speaking of this subject, if I write a letter and send it to you, I then have someone go to the mailbox each day to let me know if you wrote back. They call me everyday at 7:00 AM, and they tell me, “Bishop, today you received this amount of letters to you from your friends to whom you wrote.” If you don’t answer my letter, I worry that something is happening to you, or Continued on next page

you might be ill and can’t answer my letter. I don’t call you or tweet you, because I am who I am. I’m just a plain, simple, old time, Bible preacher, publishing Christ’s Gospel, so I look forward to your letters. Sometimes I just get tired and take an afternoon nap, which makes

feel

refreshed. Then, I get up and go back to work. What am I saying to you? I’m simply letting you know that I believe God put you and me in touch with each other, and I take every letter you write to me and our Continued on next page

Church very seriously and personally. I have people who help me. They read my letters that I write, and they use computers to correct my spelling, because I’m a poor speller (Smile). Some tease me in good humor and say, “Bishop, sometimes, with your handwriting and spelling, I think you’re speaking in those unknown tongues about which the Bible speaks.” But, as hokey as it sounds, I do handwrite everything, and with modern tools, such as computers, my associates get my letters into up-todate letterform and then to the post office

you. Continued on next page

If you’ll notice, the Church pays for your postage, so all you have to do is fill out the prayer page in my letters and seal it in the enclosed, postage paid envelope and give it to your postman or woman working at the post office. Then I’ll receive your letter with your prayer requests. Remember, you have a true friend in this old church bishop.

God Bless You You’re in my thoughts this morning.

ALL FOR YOU From the Founding Bishop As an 87-year-old church bishop, I worked diligently for long hours to write this book. I had to get all of these testimonial letters together with these pictures and do the essential Bible research. It cost a lot of money to have it printed, and the post office charges so much for postage now. I do hope you enjoy this book. It’s free to you. Do you like your gift? Please let us know.

OHIO Dear Saint Matthew’s Churches,

❝Oh how happy and joyous I am today.

I just couldn’t wait any longer. I just have to tell you the good news. God has really blessed me. I have been working on a job for twenty years just up until two months ago. The man I was working for told me that he was retiring and asked if I wanted to take over his construction business. Continued on next page

Well, to my surprise, he gave me the construction business and all the equipment right out of the blue sky. I could hardly believe it. I thought he was joking. He said, no I’m not. There were several people that were trying to get it, but thanks to the Lord and your prayers… this wonderful opportunity has come my way. Not only that, but since I have been writing to you, the Lord blessed me with a new… truck, my house is remodeled, two cars paid off, and just so many more things God has done for me through your prayers. I know that your prayers had something to do with it. I will keep on praying for your ministry. I am a member of your [Seed Harvest] Blessing Plan.❞

Each one of us has two spiritual choices: #1 Choice is to believe that yes, we can have every promise God made to each of us in the Holy Bible. OR #2 Choice is to doubt in the silence of our minds and think, no, we do not believe that we can have every promise God is making to us in the Holy Bible.

112 Saint Matthew’s Churches sells nothing. It is supported by your free will offerings. Further, neither this ministry’s prayers, nor the miracles of God can be bought. This ministry’s prayers are free of charge and miracles are contingent upon the will of God. Your offerings are a form of worshipping God according to scriptures such as Deuteronomy 12:6,11; Malachi 3:10; II Corinthians 9:7. We want you to know that it is one-hundred percent alright if you do not have any money to donate to this ministry. Please do not feel badly; write to us as long and as many times as you need prayer. We will be here to pray with you even if you never send a dime. All printed statements in this book cover a time span of many years: they are reproduced as reported with editing being limited to grammatical construction, updating, clarification and space. This Ministry assumes no legal responsibility for the veracity or permanency of reported healings, miracles, or other happenings. All supernatural events and blessings are contingent upon spiritual condition relative to the individual and any other deviation from the intended divine plan could result in mental, physical, and/or spiritual set back (St. John 5:14). The pictures in this book are not Saint Matthew’s members; they are shown to place emphasis on the importance of the message. This Ministry is more than 69 years old. The testimonies in this book are of what God has done in answer to prayer. This home missionary ministry was established in 1951 and is for all people of all races. Everyone is welcome. “According to your faith so be it unto you” (St. Matthew 9:20). Saint Matthew’s Churches prayer team is a small group of praying parents and grandparents whose lives are dedicated to praying for people and mailing out gospel books, sermon prayer letters and other Christian literature. Most of all we pray for people to be saved and be ready to meet Jesus when they die or when Jesus comes. We believe this is the most important thing in life, more important than success or material blessings. But, we also believe that the blessings of God are not limited to salvation of the soul. We believe you can have everything God promises you in the Bible. We believe God wants to bless you, his child, spiritually, physically, and financially (III John 2). We believe God wants his children to prosper and have the nicer things in life (Philippians 4:19). We pray for God to bless folks with their own businesses, more money, finer homes and automobiles. We believe God’s people can have the best of everything. It is God answering prayer, not us, that is making these wonderful things happen for people. Give God the praise. We write our partners letters each month, all of the same faith-building nature. These items of faith, which we send out along with our letters, have no power but are merely spiritual faith handles like Jesus and His disciples used during their time to help people focus their faith on God. If for any reason you do not wish to receive this church’s mail, please notify us and we will remove your name and address from our list.
