A coconut saved JFK’s life.
August 2, 1943 began as cloudy, moonless night in South Pacific for 26-year-old Navy lieutenant John F. Kennedy . As Kennedy and his crew patrolled the Solomon Islands from their boat, PT-109, a Japanese destroyer pierced through the fog and sliced the smaller ship in half. An enormous fireball filled the sky, and two men aboard PT-109 were killed. As Kennedy and ten other survivors huddled around the wreck , they realized they had no choice but to swim to a nearby island.

Kennedy, a former member of the Harvard swim team, personally towed one of his wounded comrades with his teeth for five hours through shark - and crocodile-infested waters to Plum Pudding Island , where they ate coconuts to survive .
After several days, the men flagged down two Soloman Islands native passing in a canoe , who agreed to take a message to the Allied forces . The dispatch was carved into a coconut shell: “NAURO ISL... COMMANDER

Years later, Judge Ernest W. Gibson Jr., a colonel in the South Pacific during the war, surprised the newly elected President Kennedy with a gift . It was the coconut he had carved his message into. The global microwave oven market size is anticipated to reach $12.70 billion by 2022 according to a new report.
Improving standard of living of consumers, growing number of nuclear families, and increasing demand for frozen and ready-to-eat food are some of the key factors stimulating market growth.
New microwave sales may be falling, but microwaves are still in over 90 percent of American households . Americans aren’t throwing out the ones they have.
Microwaves are also, in some ways, moving upscale. Sale of built-in microwaves — which are built into the kitchen rather than sitting standalone on a counter, and are much closer cousins to the commercial oven — have grown by more than 100 percent since 2000.

Accidents That Changed History
COINCIDENCE OR BLESSING FROM GOD?
Altering the course of human events takes a grand idea and careful execution—most of the time. but at these fateful points, plans went out the window.
Was it an accident or inspired by there Lord when a man who never finished his education discovered how to make a microwave oven, which are now in 90 percent of the homes in America. Was it an accident or a miracle from God? Here is a bit of the history of the microwave oven, which changed the way much of the world prepares food that you’re eating daily.

Percy Spencer was so fascinated by the sinking of the Titanic that he became a scientist. He joined the Navy, trained as a radio electrician, and ultimately became a civilian expert on radar during World War II, earning the Distinguished Public Service Award for his work. And he did it all without ever having graduated from high school.

After the war, Spencer worked for Raytheon Manufacturing, a defense contractor. As he was walking near the radar equipment one day, he absent-mindedly stuck his hand in his shirt pocket — and found a gooey mess. Spencer often carried a Mr. Peanut candy bar to feed the squirrels at lunch. He knew enough about radar to suspect that its heat-producing magnetron waves could be the culprit, but he wasn’t sure. So he placed a bag of popcorn kernels in front of the — machine — and they popped. Then came a raw egg, which dutifully exploded all over a skeptical colleague’s face. Spencer fine-tuned his discovery with Raytheon and marketed it to airlines,
railways, restaurants, and cruise liners as “the Radarange” — or, as it’s now known, the microwave oven. Fortunately, microwaves have come a long way since 1947, when they stood nearly six feet tall, weighed 750 pounds, and cost $3,000. That’s roughly $35,000 today. Was it a coincidence or a divine blessing from our Heavenly Father?

“According to your faith so be it unto you” (St. Matthew 9:20). Saint Matthew’s Churches prayer team is a small group of praying parents and grandparents whose lives are dedicated to praying for people and mailing out gospel books, sermon prayer letters and other Christian literature. Most of all we pray for people to be saved and be ready to meet Jesus when they die or when Jesus comes. We believe this is the most important thing in life, more important than success or material blessings. But, we also believe that the blessings of God are not limited to salvation of the soul. We believe you can have everything God promises you in the Bible. We believe God wants to bless you, his child, spiritually, physically, and financially (III John 2). We believe God wants his children to prosper and have the nicer things in life (Philippians 4:19). We pray for God to bless folks with their own businesses, more money, finer homes and automobiles. We believe God’s people can have the best of everything. It is God answering prayer, not us, that is making these wonderful things happen for people. Give God the praise.
We write our partners letters each month, all of the same faith-building nature. These items of faith, which we send out along with our letters, have no power but are merely spiritual faith handles like Jesus and His disciples used during their time to help people focus their faith on God.
