A physical therapist comes to the church parsonage twice a week and stretches his arms and legs and teaches him to stand tall and walk straight with his posture, using light exercises.

Concerning the Bishop’s Sunday worship letters , he doesn’t type , by choice, and he doesn’t use a computer. He doesn’t tweet or use emails by choice, but his church staff is very high-techsavvy. His secretary, Sister Emily, goes over each letter to correct his spelling. Sister Emily , and other long time friends help the old Bishop get his Sunday worship letters to chosen ones to whom he feels led to write.

Every day at 7:00 A.M., Rev. Donald, the old church Bishop’s brother in the Lord, who has been faithful with him since 1964, calls the Bishop and tells him how many prayer request letters he received that day to pray over. The old Bishop is not alone in praying over each person’s prayer requests.

Besides the Cathedral of Saint Matthew (Saint Matthew’s mother church), in the old Bishop’s church office, he has a prayer room-chapel with an altar and an opened Bible. Our employees stop their work for a little while during the day and

go into that little chapel with your name, and they help the old Bishop pray over your name and your prayer requests. We have five Sunday church services at our mother Church, where we also keep your name.

He wonders, is your hair white , like his , and are you up in years like him? He tries to imagine what you are going to do today. The old Bishop said that he hopes to hear from you soon . He would sure appreciate it if today you could find five minutes of time to drop him a line, “even if it’s only a note”. Then, he’ll know how you’re doing, because he feels that he’s on an assignment from heaven to help people with his Sunday church letters.

I wish to share with you at this time that I was raised as a Baptist and still trust and respect the religion, as I am still Baptist . Nevertheless, just here recently, I was lost and confused and questioned my faith. I met many people along my journey from many different walks of life and religions… and still was unable to find myself and/or define my faith, as these different religions only confused me even more. I prayed to God for guidance, and what I found during this time was my first letter from Saint Matthew’s

Churches… and I don’t know how or why other than an act of God. What I do know [though], is that your reading material has awakened me and given me strength. I thank God and Saint Matthew’s Churches for finding… me and I thank God [for] saving me.

I have sent in many prayer requests to Saint Matthew’s Churches. Many have been answered and a few are in the works . I always knew that prayer worked … but now I am living it and appreciating it first-hand.

Standing in The Shadows

I feel Jesus in this place.

In this old world, when it rumbles around you, and everything goes wrong, and the shadows of your past reappear , just remember that Jesus loves you, and He cares for His own . Just trust in Him when hope is almost gone. Standing somewhere in the shadows you’ll find Jesus. He’s the only one who cares and understands. Standing somewhere in the shadows you will find Him , and you’ll know Him by the nail prints in His hand.

“According to your faith so be it unto you” (St. Matthew 9:20). Saint Matthew’s Churches prayer team is a small group of praying parents and grandparents whose lives are dedicated to praying for people and mailing out gospel books, sermon prayer letters and other Christian literature. Most of all we pray for people to be saved and be ready to meet Jesus when they die or when Jesus comes. We believe this is the most important thing in life, more important than success or material blessings. But, we also believe that the blessings of God are not limited to salvation of the soul. We believe you can have everything God promises you in the Bible. We believe God wants to bless you, his child, spiritually, physically, and financially (III John 2). We believe God wants his children to prosper and have the nicer things in life (Philippians 4:19). We pray for God to bless folks with their own businesses, more money, finer homes and automobiles. We believe God’s people can have the best of everything. It is God answering prayer, not us, that is making these wonderful things happen for people. Give God the praise.

We write our partners letters each month, all of the same faith-building nature. These items of faith, which we send out along with our letters, have no power but are merely spiritual faith handles like Jesus and His disciples used during their time to help people focus their faith on God.
