This scene is inevitable for us all. It is not if; it’s when, because everyone on this planet will close their eyes in death. Then what? Here is good news for you to get ready.

This information shows you the Bible’s way to live a happy, successful life and will show you how to prepare for your journey through death into eternal life. Why not trade something that we are all going to lose anyway (our earthly lives) for something we can never lose? That is eternal life in glory with Jesus Christ.

HEAVEN, OUR ETERNAL HOME

PHILIPPIANS 3:20

People of all races will be in Heaven, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain…” Revelation 21:4

“…And He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you…Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels’…And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

SHALL WE MEET OUR LOVED ONES AGAIN?

Yes, we will recognize our loved ones in heaven, otherwise it would be like gathering strangers.

“If a man dies,” asked the patriarch Job, “shall he live again?” (Job 14:14).

How many have asked the same question down the tear-stained centuries? Every mother who has kissed her child in a last farewell , every child who has sobbed out his loneliness at the loss of a beloved parent, has wondered whether a

day of reunion would ever dawn .

Welling up within each sorrowful heart has been the hope that death is not the end, and that somehow, sometime there will be life beyond the tomb.

Job said, “All the days of my hard service I will wait, till my change comes. You shall call, and I will answer you; you shall desire the work of your hands”

(Job 14:14,15).

He is sure that the God who made him, and fashioned his character as a potter molds clay with his fingers, will not forget him. No matter how many years shall pass, God will still remember him and want him in His kingdom.

SHALL WE MEET OUR LOVED ONES AGAIN?

Job’s heartfelt conviction prompted him to utter these precious, ever-memorable words: “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!” (Job 19:25-27).

In the New Testament we find Jesus radiating confidence in life after death, and who could know the truth of it better than He? “…The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself…Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth – those who have done good, to the resurrection of life , and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation” (St. John 5:25-29).

“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day” (St. John 6:40).

As if to demonstrate His ability to keep His promise, He raised many from the dead then and there, including Jairus’ daughter, the son of the widow of Nain and Lazarus (St. Matthew 9:25, St. Luke 7:14, St. John 11:43).

As people saw the dead come back to life they were astonished, saying, “God has visited His people” (St. Luke 7:16) .

They were right. He had. Here was the

King of love and life in action, doing what

He most wanted to do – healing the sick, the lame, the deaf, the blind, and most wonderfully of all, raising the dead to life.

All of this was but a preview of something far greater to happen in the future, at that great “last day ” when His wondrous voice will shatter the tombs of earth and bring forth all the righteous dead .

By rising from the dead Himself,

Jesus gave the surest evidence of His power over death and the ultimate resurrection of all who believe in Him.

Hebrews 9:28, I Corinthians 15:23

“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable,” writes the Apostle Paul, “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death , by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming” (I Corinthians 15:19-23).

There were some in Corinth who could not bring themselves to believe in life

Choose God or Satan. It’s your choice.

LIFE AFTER DEATH

IS WHAT

TWO BILLION PEOPLE BELIEVE IN. These are people who are living now , not counting the billions of believers who have died and gone on to meet their Creator, our Heavenly Father. Don’t think that evildoers , such as Hitler , drug dealers , murderers and so on are going to get away with their evil deeds, because there is a great day of judgment coming wherein they will meet God face to face, and they will pay a terrible price for their evil deeds done in this life.

St. Mark 4:22, II Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 20:12

Paul answers them, “But someone will say, ‘How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?’ Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be , but mere grain – perhaps wheat or some other grain. But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body… So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in

dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body , it is raised a spiritual body…” (I Corinthians 15:35-44).

Then he moves into his grand conclusion of his speech in which, under divine inspiration, he reveals the nature and certainty of the coming restoration of life of the saints of God: “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible,

When my journey ends on Earth, I want to live in Heaven. I have such peace in my soul since Jesus saved my soul.

and we shall be changed . For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality , then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting?

O Hades , where is your victory ?’”

(I Corinthians 15:51-55).

Amid all the harshness and cruelty of the Roman world, when life was cheap and death meant little, this glorious view

of endless life beyond the tomb brought unspeakable cheer to the believers .

Here, too, was clear intimation that God preserves a perfect pattern of every individual and has the power to cause each one to live again.

As for Paul, he spoke about it constantly, bidding every believer to look “for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). In that glad day the mighty miracle would be wrought , and the faithful taken to their eternal home.

That place, about which Jesus tells us, is called Heaven.

Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.

And the dead in Christ will rise first.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Here indeed is rich comfort for the sorrowing; for not only do Paul’s words provide added assurance that Christ will keep His promise and come again to raise the dead, it affords an added glimpse of how it will happen.

“The righteous dead will be raised, and the righteous living ought to wash one

another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you…If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them” (St. John 13:1-17). The true church will be found following Jesus’ bidding. It will possess

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

the gifts of the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit came upon the early church He brought “diversities of gifts” (I Corinthians 12:4).

“For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues” (I Corinthians 12:8-11).

Each of these gifts was for the help and blessing of the church.

Peter said, “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (I Peter 1:13).

To make assurance doubly sure that there will be nothing secret about His advent, Jesus Himself said, “For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear

in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory”

(St. Matthew 24:27, 30).

It will be audible to the human ear. Paul said, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God” (I Thessalonians 4:16).

Again, “…We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet” (I Corinthians 15:51,52).

Jesus said, “And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet …” (St. Matthew 24:31) . So, His coming will certainly not be silent! It will be a sublime and majestic pageant, for Jesus said, “The Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels…” (St. Matthew 16:27).

Again, “the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him…” (St. Matthew 25:31, also see 26:64).

As best he can, in human language, John sought to describe what he saw in vision. He wrote, “Now I saw heaven

opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True , and in righteousness He judges and makes war” (Revelation 19:11).

It will resemble the scene at His ascension. You will recall that, following His last farewell to His disciples , “…while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight” (Acts 1:9).

Then, “while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you

He was received into a cloud, and with the clouds of heaven He will return.

More importantly, it will be “this same Jesus” who will appear, not someone else. He will be glorified yet unchanged.

Time will not have aged Him. Jesus never changes (Hebrews 13:8).

You will live again, after death, in a new body. Sin,

sickness, sorrow, and death will not be in our new bodies in heaven. Each year, we see our bodies aging, but after this present life in this aging body, aging will be no more, and, in heaven, we’ll all be in our new, beautiful, heavenly bodies.

Look at all of the crime in America’s big and small cities with drugs , gangs , killings , and homes and families torn apart, due to sin and crime . The country and the world are experiencing plagues , such as this coronavirus , which is like an invisible killer demon from hell, killing millions , and you can’t even see it coming.

Christ warns us about all of this in the 24th chapter of Saint Matthew.
