So often it is just because you are good and upright that you have enemies . So often it is just because you cannot be led from the path of righteousness . And, so often it is because you simply are surrounded by evil people , evil neighbors and evil conditions.

Yet, even with all of this, you can be peaceful and happy if the glad tidings of God’s love are in you and through you.

It is like the man who said to the minister,

“I

have been through the Bible forty times and I never found what you are preaching.”

Over and over again we are told, in God’s Holy Word, that God will protect you from the enemy and from evil, that every day and night he is watching over you.

I am in this dark world’s fight! Look unto me. Thy morn shall rise. And all thy days shall be bright. Isaiah 60:19-20

“That may be,” said the minister, “but the question is: How much and how many times has the Bible been through you?” For if God’s Word is through you, then you will know and feel that if you but follow in the footsteps of your Great Teacher , then God’s protection from enemies and evil is swift and sure.

“How do you know that God will protect you?” an Arab was once asked.

“How do I know whether it was a man or a camel , which passed my tent last night?” answered the Arab.

“By his footsteps.”

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want...” 23 Psalm

God knows you by your first name. He can see where you cannot see an opportunity for prosperity , for he said,

“I will bring the blind by a way they did not know. I will lead them in paths that they have not known...” Isaiah 42:16

God has left His footsteps in this world and in the Bible. There is One who walked in those footsteps and who has left them for you . Follow in those footsteps , and you will be happier and much better off. Your soul will be opened to God’s light, and you will hear, as did the poet of old, the voice of Jesus say: “I am this dark world’s light. Look unto me. Thy morn shall rise and all thy days shall be bright ” (Isaiah 60:19-20) . For enemies, like evil, are things to be conquered. And the way of conquest is the way of Jesus. Jesus understood earthly problems because He had them. For He too had enemies who confronted Him.

Are you facing any personal problems, worries or troubles at this particular time?

Are you worried about money problems, debt, or your work? Are you worried about your health? Are you experiencing family problems? Do you get lonely for the love of companionship? Do you feel as though life should hold more happiness for you?

Do you face the hatred of some man or woman? Although Jesus was gentle, good and kind, He was hated by many.

How did Jesus triumph over enemies and evil, you may ask? Well, in the first place, Jesus had faith – faith that God was really watching over Him.

HOW TO FIND FRIENDS

You may think yourself abandoned and alone. You may think that you have no friends who are doing anything to help you . But, God has seen you. He is watching you. He is guiding friends and conditions to

WHEN YOU’RE SLEEPING AND WHEN YOU’RE AWAKE, GOD SEES YOU . GOD CHOSE YOU , AND HE CREATED YOU IN HIS IMAGE (Genesis 1:27) . GOD WILL WIPE EVERY TEAR FROM YOUR EYES , IF YOU TRUST HIM AS YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER . HE KNOWS YOU WELL.

your prosperity , your success and your good fortune.

You may need help and need it badly, but please do try and know that God is doing what He is doing . He will bring you success in your efforts just as soon as He finds a man or woman or condition through which to work ; God does not force people to believe.

God wants you to be successful in all that you undertake, which is born of righteousness. It is one of His principal gifts to you. He has placed every good thing in the world for your prosperity and your success . He has placed the power to gain them and the power to use them in your heart.

And all that He asks in return is that you obey the few laws , which He has laid down for His children. A train must run along tracks to get to its destination. God’s laws are the tracks along which you must run to get to your destination –prosperity , peace and plenty . The reason why so many people fail to realize their ambitions is they are fighting against and breaking God’s law of life.

It is a marvelous thing to see that God has so arranged it, that in order for you to be really successful and happy , you must first help to make others successful and happy .

Jesus said: St.

“COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO Labor AND ARE HEAVY LADEN, AND I WILL GIVE You Rest. ”

If every one of us thought in just that way, what a brighter world this would be!

For this is what Jesus was always trying to get people to do . He was always trying to get people to give up selfish rewards and pleasures and devote their thoughts to helping others . Do you remember what He said? “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” St. Matthew 16:25

Jesus was talking of the use in which you put your life . He meant that the man or woman who tried to

live for themselves alone would never be successful in their undertakings . In fact, He made it even stronger. He said that such a person would not only not gain their ambition, but would end up with even less than what they started with.

And, how true that is! Haven’t you noticed that nine times out of ten, the person who goes through life saying, “What’s in it for me?” or “What’s my share?” or “I’ve got to look out for myself first” not only never gets anything permanently , but, in many cases, makes enemies and loses that which they got!

But he who gives his life shall find it a hundredfold (St. Matthew 19:29).

How true and how strong that is.

When you give , you not only get back that which you give, said Jesus, but you get it back a hundred times.

If you will start out with the idea of giving instead of getting, you will succeed not only in a spiritual way, but in a worldly way.

DO YOU WANT TO SEE A MIRACLE?

Saint Matthew’s Churches prayer team is a small group of praying parents and grandparents whose lives are dedicated to praying for people and mailing out gospel books, sermon prayer letters and other Christian literature. Most of all we pray for people to be saved and be ready to meet Jesus when they die or when Jesus comes. We believe this is the most important thing in life, more important than success or material blessings. But, we also believe that the blessings of God are not limited to salvation of the soul. We believe you can have everything God promises you in the Bible. We believe God wants to bless you, his child, spiritually, physically, and financially (III John 2). We believe God wants his children to prosper and have the nicer things in life (Philippians 4:19). We pray for God to bless folks with their own businesses, more money, finer homes and automobiles. We believe God’s people can have the best of everything. It is God answering prayer, not us, that is making these wonderful things happen for people. Give God the praise.

We write our partners letters each month, all of the same faith-building nature. These items of faith, which we send out along with our letters, have no power, but are merely spiritual faith handles like Jesus and His disciples used during their time, to help people focus their faith on God.
