Dallas Plugge Dean

March 8, 1941 - August 28, 2024

Dallas Plugge Dean, a 1960 graduate of the St. Mary's Seminary Junior College, had an exemplary 30-year career as an educator. Long recognized by the College community for her leadership, dedication and philanthropy, Dallas sponsored the Department of Educational Studies' "Fairy Godprofessor" fund, which supports graduate students in times of unexpected need. She established the Dallas P. Dean Master of Arts in Teaching Scholarship in 2002. She received the Alumni Association's Society of Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023. That same year, Dallas was recognized with the Board of Trustees' Order of the Ark and Dove Award, which honors individuals who exemplify distinguished service to the College.
