Ian’s long innings

After more than 40 years in the one job, Ian Jackson is retiring after working as an Electorate Officer for three state members of Parliament. Ian speaks this week to Gerard Walsh, and notes that he was, surprisingly perhaps, the first male to fill the role as an Electorate Officer for a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Ian was born in Stanthorpe and his first job was with an accountant in the town. He then worked as a cost clerk for the then Stanthorpe Shire Council before (07) 46 619 835 deciding to take aE warwick@rfsteelbuildings.com.au break from office work.

With the Ashes underway, one of the backstops for the Australian team is Warwick paceman Mark Steketee, who played a starring role for Australia A against the England Lions earlier this month at the Ian Healy Oval, compliing his best innings yet in Australian colours.
