Better 1 year late than never
The Freestone State School will be celebrating its 150 years too late on Saturday 9th October, but that pent up extra 12 months should make the celebrations extra special. “This is an important event for our community,” one of the organisers, Kathy Payne said. “Every generation is excited”... and that includes Norm Madsen, who attended Freestone State School in the run up to World War II, and recalls some of the adventures kids got up to those day in the story, as told to Krista Bjorn
