Chappie’s world
The irrepressible Colin Chapman, manager of Pikedale station, is in Ben Boland’s sights this week, as he overlooks the rip in Chappie’s shirt to bring us an insight into the man...and a famous anecdote that boils down to Chappie’s remarkably clean jocks, even in a crisis.
Tannymorel memories
Honey roasted apple..mmm
John Towells this week brings us an insight with his lens and pen to the commemoration of 100 Years of the Tannymorel Cenotaph earlier this month. The Cenotaph was commemorated on the 7th February 1922, while the first World War was very fresh in the memory of all. The Montrose Light Horse team led the march last week along Oak Street to the Cenotaph followed by Ex-servicemen and the Warwick Thistle Pipe Band. Killarney RSL Sub Branch President Bob Wright led the commemorative service with guest speaker Queensland RSL State President(07) 46 619 835 Stephen Day. Krista Bjorn believes there is hardly such a thing as a ‘bad apple’ if you treat it right, and this week she takes us into her kitchen and shows us how to create honey roasted apples...which she calls a magical concoction that fills the whole house with delectable wafts of apple, cinnamon, nuts, and honey while they bake. They’re also incredibly healthy, so you can indulge without a hint of guilt unless, of course, you accompany them with big scoops of vanilla ice cream or lashings of fresh cream.” Full details inside.
